Hi all, I am not very artsy craftsy, and I was wondering if any of you are making a memory box or scrapbooking project for your SR's momentos. I have a bunch of pictures from Nick's going away party,…Continue

MaggieJoan -- WOW!!!!! Too Cool about Friday 13th!!

I have to tell you all - I too had a OMG moment!  It was when I got the Phone call saying I am here - My SR was born on 11/14 and when I hung up the phone from his call it was 11:14!!!  It gave me the shivers!!  All I could think was - he started his life on 11/14 and now he "starts" his life at 11:14!!!!!!!  I shiver now thinking about it!!!

jdmom - Congrats on the phone call!!

BTW-  my sr is graduating on May 6th.  I think my post was rather unclear.  I just wanted to say that it was a sweet thing that your son was born on the 13th and will graduate on the 13th.   I think I am tired, and should stop posting so  I don't keep making such faux pas!

MaggieJoan---  I live in Northern California and my only child was born on Wed the 13th.   The 13th had always been my special lucky number.   I think that is so cool that he is graduating on the 13th.  So cool!!!   Mary

Well, no letter today, but there are only three PIRs before ours.  Woot!    We will be seing our SRs in a little over 3 weeks.   I am excited.  Thank you to all of you, Ebgirl and others who have made this rocky road seem a little smoother.   I had a nightmare last night that I was abducted with these mobsters, and I had to duck down in the back seat of the car so I would not be shot.   I think it is my subconscious trying to work out my son being gone since it is like being in a situation that I would like to extracate myself from.  I just hope I do not have an airplane nightmare.  Love you, Navy Sister    Mary

I just found this group thanks to CMom's post in another area.   My son is Ship 12, Division 157.  I see some people that I already know.  Yeah.  Love you all.

It's hard to believe we are at the 1/2 way point. I am sooooo glad that I found this group and hope we will all try and stay in touch after PIR.

I didn't think my son leaving would affect me as much as it has. He is my only child, but has not lived at home for a year. I really miss the almost daily phone calls and/or texts. Even if it was just to say hi or see how I am doing.

I hardly leave the house anymore, and our crappy weather here in Washington isn't helping anything. It's April and we are still only seeing daytime temps in the mid to upper 40's!!! Yes, it's been raining just about everyday also.

Well, enough complaining from me. Just wanted to check in with you girls and say hi!

OMG: Your always welcome in our group. What would we do without you and your funny stories! :)
