Mommy's back!!! hey girlie!! what a lovely picture of you and the Sailor Girl!!!
keep us posted when you can !!!! and yes i will thank my darlin' for you : )
Dad got home this evening after spending time with our son in Va. They had a wonderful time and our son will be leaving shortly for deployment.
He took our Sailor to a highly recommended restaurant and when they arrived they were told it was "seating by reservation only". Dad explained to the hostess it was his last night there to be with his soon to be deployed son and wasn't aware of the reservations. the hostess kindly sat them at the bar, which my husband prefers anyway.
They were talking quietly to each other and some other guests at the restaurant starting talking to them "where are you from?" sort of thing. and my husband explained. the couple next to them thanked our son for his service to our nation and asked Dad if he had served also. He told them that he is a Viet Nam Veteran and they thanked him as well for his service.
Dad told the people who thanked him that this is a special moment in his life...he has never been thanked personally face to face in the 41 yrs. since he had returned from the war and to share this moment with his son was priceless.
They enjoyed a wonderful meal and when Dad went to pay the check...the bill had already been paid. Needless to say my guys were stunned and thankfully the generous couple that paid their check were still in the restaurant so Dad and son could thank them.
It's still so shocking to them that this happened and they both pause when I ask them about it. Our son said that sharing that moment with his Dad will be one that he will treasure forever. he told the couple how proud his is of his father and that he will serve our country as honorably as his Dad did.
TGIF ~ Texas reporting for Friday muster....
Talked to Ryan last night they have been exeperiencing some cooler temps, 54 degrees today. He has been playing some football in his off time and will begin another softball game/ tournament this weekend.
He said that his TAD will be compeleted Oct 24 and then hopefully he will begin his C School.
Hope everyone has a great weekend :-)
I'm off to get my sweat on and then hit the nursery to buy some new plant for the yard/flower bed. It's a surprise for the hubby...LOL
I'm sorry I'm not going to have time to read everything, maybe in time though. Thanks for your thoughts & prayers, my friends (like family for 18 years now) their 24 year old daughter was seriously injured when she was ejected from a vehicle. It will be quite some time till they know the extent of her brain damage. We are just praying that she makes it. I will pop in from time to time to get some needed pick me ups.
I'm so proud to be a part of this amazing group. Navy moms are truely the best. Hugs to you all.
Connie- Congrats on Stephens graduation! and I still don't know what time the airshow starts on Sat (i didn't forget) and Dee went to Coletas and Donna showed up, so they got to chat for few minutes. It amazes me how things work out. Thanks for your help.
