Texas reporting for Tuesday morning muster.....

Cindy, sorry to hear that this tragedy struck so close to home. Prayers for peace & strength for your fellow townsmen during this difficult time ~ also sending prayers of healing for your son to get well soon!

MNM - what wonderful news for a visit with your sailor girl :-) That's awesome that you will be able to tour the ship!

3dsmom - did your son have the lasik eye surgery? Mine wanted to do SAR(search and rescue) but had the eye issue as well.

What is SWICK....will look it up but just asking?

MNM- Susie (Whaletalkers from our PIR group) attended the memorial and she has posted about it.  she met the mother and step-mother. and while i was reading her post, it kept screaming in my brain of the shock of what they all must have just heard about the SEALS and the deep hurt they are experiencing over Berg.

lots of tears in Tennessee.

in our paper is the story of a SEAL from Tn who was killed in this horrific event.  a dad of two little girls ages 2 and 2 months, a husband, a son, a grandson. he wanted to be a SEAL since he was "knee-high to a grasshopper"  and i know that many N4Ms were having that Sunday morning cup of coffee reading about a young man from their own state.

Erin, I'm trying to remember, how long he was actually in classes. It's a little hard to say because their "hold time" differs from sailor to sailor. My son got to P'cola the 3rd wk in Feb. I believe he was on hold a few weeks before he did the AWAT portion. There is another short class, and they the AT class. That AT class is the longest of the 3. He graduated the second week in June. There is a lot of wait time between things... seems to be the nature of the beast! In a nutshell, Anthony completed his A school training in about 4 months. I would text him and ask him, but he's not talking to me right now. If you don't get a better answer over the next few days, I'll inquire once we are on better terms.

Tchrmom-you are so right.  today there was a memorial service in Nashville for Matthew Bergman who was lost at sea. sadly, today will be historical in Naval history.

God has a funny way of waking us up to see what is really important. I'm bothered by my husband having extra clothes. There are grieving families who have lost loved ones. Somehow shorts and shirts are trivial...

Heartbroken over the loss of life. You are very right MNM. Freedom is not truly free. Prayers are with the fallen and their families. May they find the strength to endure.
