Just read the link MNM posted about Matt Bergman. There was a video clip of an interview with the Dad. Very moving, touching, sad, uplifting, emotional... Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. You just never know what The Lord has in store for us...

Tchrmom-only kidding....not trying to be disrespectful in any way. we poke fun at ourselves, our kids, the Navy and various other things...keeping it "light",  lessening the worries for when the day comes that we can't laugh at any thing at all... because that day might be just around the corner.

yes the Checkmates have a verrrrry cool patch!!!

Can't have Flyin' Pigs... how do you stop fooling around with the name to get respect!!

Cool patch Connie! Thanks for that!

MNM- you must be the researcher in the group. Great list! And  to think that list dates back to 1968! That's over 40 years of serving our country. Think of the history those squadrons all have... and there are so many! WOW!

When he first got his orders, he said they were attached to the Enterprise. Now he's not sure if that's where he'll be going... I didn't bother telling him I would check with a N4Ms group and get back to him. When he was in boot camp, this website kept me up on what would be going on with him before HE even knew...

Donna, beautiful pict! The love is so apparent in that photo!

Connie- I got a text (YEAH!- COMMUNICATION!) saying he would be in training for 105 days. Don't know if that is calendar days, or business days. Said he actually isn't sure if he will be with the Enterprise. He is assign to squadron VFA 211/ Flying Checkmates (can I say that here?)
