Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello Ladies!
Well I had to say "See ya Later" to my sailor yesterday. I admit a few tears came out when I gave him that last hug but I wasn't the blubbering mess that I usually am LOL. It helped knowing I shouldn't have to wait a whole year or so before seeing him again. Very good possibility I'll be seeing him again later this year. It sure was great having him home. He sent me a message this morning that he was safely back in Japan so now I can relax and guess get back to my normal life - whatever that is LOL!

News Flash - HE'S HOME!!!!! My sailor surprised us and came home a month early. His leave in March conflicted with another sailors leave so one of them had to change and my son decided to come home early and surprise us and boy did he! Very Happy Momma here!!!!

Candirad - I get him for a full 3 weeks!!!! He left in Dec of 2012 for Japan and this is the second time he'll be home. I sure do miss him but fortunately he keeps in contact with me and he really likes his Navy life so that has made the separation easier to deal with. I'm so amazed at the places he's been and things he's done and he's only 22. Sometimes I have to pinch myself and say "Wow is that my kid?!!" The Navy has definitely turned my boy into a mature & responsible young man. I'm so proud of him.

That is so great joshmom!!! I am spoiled at the moment, but I know the withdrawals I went through when he was at Boot Camp. I could not imagine an entire year! How long will he be on leave?

Got good news from my sailor...he'll be home on leave in 39 more days!!!! It's been a year since I've seen him so I'm super excited!

Thank you beach bunny :) that just shows that really anything can happen and that every sailors situation is different.
my husbands goal is to finish top of his class so he can try to get a pick of where he wants us to be stationed, which I have no doubt of his capabilities.. He told me he would finish BC as honor recruit and rpoc and he did just that so I know he'll follow through with his goals no matter what it takes.
I will ask him if he is land or sea based, he said he is attached to a squadron and he only deploys if that squadron is needed, something like that. So I'm not sure if that's what land or sea based means. They told him after bootcamp that he'll definitly have c school so we're thinking he may have it right after a school.
He just classed up for ATT and starts tomorrow so we're pretty excited that the ball is finally rolling. I have no expectations of where we will end up as far as our duty station goes, I'm just excited for our son and I to live with him again since we're in California waiting till he gets his orders. I used to be a planner and get anxiety over the unknown but surprisingly navy life has eased my anxiety and I just take things day by day. My motto is anything can happen and prepare for any outcome. My husband has wanted to join the navy since we were in high school and the right time finally came almost 10 years later so he's done his research and I trust in his dream to lead our family in this new journey :)
