CC-thank you! i collect every article i can find on it and have started a "retirement" folder.  this last article that we were reading has us more confused than ever!  did you find the people at the SS office knowledgeable and helpful?  this is what scares me the most!

a friend was widowed suddenly almost 2 yrs. ago. they have a special needs daughter.  bad advice had her accept SS benefits for her daughter who lost her SSI and insurance coverage.  the daughter is Downs Syndrome and has significant heart problems and now no health coverage.

we were able to "learn" from my friend's mistake...Sissy-girl's meds would cost over $1000.00 per month if paid out of pocket. so we will "decline" her SS benefits.

Cindy - Yes we are thinking of going down when it is a lot cooler! Thinking of a trip around the Holidays! I have never been to Fl before and Hank was there in the late 60's as a Sailor, but I am sure things have changed a bit since then! LOL! He said it will be better temps if we wait.

B is not the most patient guy and is chomping at the bit to get going on class! I hope that he relaxes and that classes will start soon foor him!

Alysia  It sounds like your float trip was great! So glad you had such a nice long time to be together and to build some special memories. I hope that you're on the mend. Too bad about it being so shallow in spots!

B is ready to get started with Phase II, hoping he can get going soon. He did say he really likes the fact that he can get back to working out on a regular schedule again. When you are used to a regular routine you get to feeling sluggish after not being able to work out regularly. He really is loving PNAS.!

Hope all of you have a great day! Sending hugs from Colorado! {{{{{{{ }}}}}}}

good morning my lovelys....

Well R left yesterday afternoon to head back to PNAS. Will complete all his debriefings this week and checkout on Friday. His TS cleareance was processed and they said everything look good...they were impressed with his promptness and lack of errors on the forms; yay for R!!

We had a GREAT visit in between his visits with his friends. We even enjoyed several breakfast/dinners as a family...been a long time! The float down the river was good, pain meds helped too, just wish the water levels were a little better. Several spots were to low to float we had to walk...but it was a longgg float and lots of time to visit and be silly :-)

Our trip yesterday to the traveling memorial was so emotional, We found  the name of several  friends and family there. A couple were kids that went to school with my Husband! I can't believe how physically and emotionally draining the experience was. My emotions ran the whole range from sadness, grief, loss, anger, pride acceptance and forgiveness!

I learned that they now have a memorial plaque and Honor Roll for those vets that fought in nam and later died of the injuries sustained  there! I lost a special cousin who was a Brave Marine...who suffered for many years from the effects of Agent Orange and they still wont recognize him! That really broke my heart!  6 years ago, Hank  (my hubs) was working in DC on a project and went to see the real Memorial. The Traveling one is 1/2 size but still impacts your soul!

Connie- I would be glad to help you and your hubby try to figure out this stuff...I  am still not completely clear on all of it Social Security doesn't make it any easier! We are still working out a couple of things...

I am so thrilled today! The hubs and I are going to Fort Carson in Colorado Springs to see the Traveling Veitnam Memorial!!! They had a huge "Welcome Home" to all Veterans of the conflict Friday evening they had a belated "Welcome Home" for all veterans and all branches. It was awesome. A bit long in coming, but very emotional! My Hubs is a Navy vet. I am so proud to be able to see it with him. Should be a very moving day! Love hugs and Thank You's to you all and to your Sailors and Vets!
