hi Susan and welcome home!! you said your Sailor spent the rest of his enlistment @Whidbey.....sweet! close to home! he's out now?
Hey all... wonder of all wonders!! What a great chatty group this has become!! I remember when I joined it ages ago I quite following since there was never anything posted!
My son is an ATI... he spent the first two years in various schools between Great Lakes and Lemoore CA... no one was heading to Pensacola at the time because they were rebuilding after losing barracks, etc to hurricanes.
The rest of his first enlistment was spent up at NAS Whidbey Island working on Prowlers. Of course there were many DET's getting ready for deployment. He has now moved down to San Diego to work on Helo's.
I have gone back a bit to catch up and learn who is who... if anyone ever heads up to NAS Whidbey Island to visit their sailor... drop me a note... would love to meet you for lunch or coffee!! or if your sailor is stationed here in WA and ever needs a mom (until you could arrive) or maybe just for lunch or a holiday dinner please be sure to let me know! Our door is always open... and there is always room at the table for one or two more!!
heck yeah i can get Reds checked out of Pcola and to the airport on time...get outta my way you dumba$$e$ this Sailor is on a mission! oh Lord just the other night my husband remembered that "incident" and reminded me of it....he still says that i scared him and he thought we were gonna get schanked!
just thinking out loud...have you all noticed that we haven't gotten any new ATI/ATOs in awhile or have i missed somebody? GL not sending any to Pcola?
so now Punkie and Reds are on their way it leaves us with all alums here?
reds-ok he needed to be finished up no later than 1600 and haul "you know what" to the airport? tell him to tell any one who will listen what he is trying to do....get the heck outta there to catch a flight. tell him NOT to be bashful about it!!! i've got everything i got crossed for him : )
congrats Punkin!
I am crying right now. WE GOT ORDERS!!!!! Norfolk VA here we come!
