Connie, can I get an autographed copy of that song off of I Tunes? You crack me up!
Joyce, one of my brothers lives in Norfolk. He was Navy. Stationed on the Nimitz! He was in the tower when they had the terrible crash and explosions 28 yrs back. ( you all need to remember I am an old lady!)
I will drop you all a note after we get the call tomorrow! You are all great!
Toodles.
I can tell that I am going to get my chuckle quota every day when I show up here! You are all so funny and caring too!
Maybe to help make things a bit less confusing you could just call me CC. How ever I love my Name. Don't you Connie!? Especially with the story behind it!
I was also named after a friend of my parents. During the depression my Dad's father was extremely ill with throat cancer and passed away. So at age 15 my Dad went to work for a gentlemen named Jim. He and his wife had a daughter that was 5 years older than my dad she is the Connie I am named after. She was relly neat, the first woman pilot in the state of Iowa. Jim owned a crop dusting palne and also farmed. Well Connie also did mail drops for the postal service and even did some barnstorming! She started fly in as a young girl. She was very independent, head strong and a better pilot than a lot of men those days! I knew her as a child/teen and just adored her. Sadly she has been gone for 20 years. She was Constance, but refused to let my folks name me that she made them agree to Connie only and was there when they filled out my birth certificate after I was born to make sure they kept their promise! She was the first woman I knew that didn't "need to have a man in her life to validate her worth!" That is a Connie Halverson quote I will take to my grave! She died single, well off and never had any children; but very, very fulfilled! Cool Lady huh?
WOO HOO another hits the fleet uh huh another one hits the fleet..kinda "catchy" don't you think???? soon to be available on ITunes : ) hehehehe
Fair winds and following seas to the newest kid on the ship...MNM's Sailor Girl!!!
Connie- Well crap I didn't even think of that lol!!! Have to get some spray for her. I wish there was a way to get the water moving more towards Nashville. I know it is sad to say, but the Harpeth is back down to its regular level, and I know it could take more for you guys! Keeping the prayers going for lower levels and a couple of weeks of dry weather!
Marine- I did not know about that! When did that happen? I know security is tight right now, I have stickers for Ft. Campbell on my car (because its the closest base at over an hour away) and they sniff the car with dogs every time I go in!
"Connie Belle"---I LOVE THAT!!!! and yeah that gate crasher @Ft. Leonard Wood...i am sure that they already have his cell ready for him!!!
marine_navy hope you hear that she gets settled in and loves it!!!
