Diane-almost missed your question...."what does an Aviation Electronics Technician do?"  do you know if your Sailor is "I" strand or "O" strand?  when we know this then we can tell you more about what he is doing and not confuse you at this point with both definitions.  if you don't know the strand then we'll tell you about both.

hey bryters--i hope you were lurking around out there girlie!!  hehehehe

i checked the corps of engineers' map a little while ago and since i am so unfamiliar with the "lay of the land" out there (38053) i couldn't make "heads or tails" out of it. it took me and a neighbor to figure out the map of our area...we're gonna be fine.

You can see the flood predictions at www.staysafeshelby.us  I think Millington was  just being cautious with all the rain we were getting a few weeks ago. The Levee broke last year when we got 13 inches of rain in one day. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks Marine Navy mom!!! I tried to ask the skipper on fb, but everyone just kept telling me to have him talk to his detailer, which they are not allowed to do in school. I hope it will work itself out before the hubs graduates

I mean this time around it has not flooded, and they are on a stand down from evacuations. It may be likly they will be "island" for a day or two but that is all. They have been at normal operations for the last 3 weeks. I thought maybet this Osama stuff may have been the reason since the threat level went up at the bases but I just don't know.

May 2010 Millington Naval Base.....i'd say it flooded

Thanks.....but the base never flooded, and probably wont. Even when it crests on May 10th. You can follow them on facebook, and the CO keeps posting that they have been operating as normal for 2 weeks now. I thought the same thing.
