I found this on another site,
AAviation electronics technicians (ATs) repair some of the most advanced electronics systems in the world. Repair jobs can range from flight deck trouble-shooting of the electronic weapons system on an F-14 Tomcat aircraft to changing computer circuit cards in an air-conditioned shop. These technicians may also volunteer to fly as Naval aircrew. Aircrew perform numerous in-flight duties and operate radar and weapon systems in turbojet, helicopter, or propeller aircraft.

Aviation electronics technicians troubleshoot and repair a number of complex electronics systems. Employing all the latest test equipment and procedures, ATs put that training to use repairing systems

Cindy-Kent's mom, thanks for the update about the Stennis going into dry dock i will pass that on to my sailor, he is working with the recruiter this week to same some leave time. I understand that he may be doing other jobs for the first 6 months before he actually does his ATI stuff, not sure if this is true, but kinda makes sense. As always this site is a gold mine of information and i thank you.

Hi all my Sailor graduated A school end of Feb and just finally got orders to report to the SS Stennis in Bremerton, WA, his just got home and will be here for about 14 days and then off to the ship. He arrived in Pcola in August, so between the hold times and schooling he was in Pcola for almost 8 months. His rate is ATI.
