Eeeekkkk....Sherrill you're right it has been quiet on here.  I admit I've been very busy at work....hate it when I don't have time for personal stuff!  And my son's wrestling schedule fills up all my free time.  Today is the first Saturday we've not had to go to a tournament since the first weekend in December....I'm enjoying a little me time!

Sailor got his picture on the GW facebook page....luckily he sent me a message telling me where he was standing in the pic (it was a group shot) otherwise I would have never picked him out.  So cool to see his face!

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the weekend.

TGIF!
MNM - I didn't know you had been a wrestling mom "The only thing stronger than a wrestler is his mom"....I seen a lady with a t-shirt that had that saying on it....cracked me up! My sailor was not athletic during high school....he's my brain child....but he now says he wished he would have done sports....would have made PT easier! But he was in pretty good shape when he went in and has adjusted well.

Hope you all have a great weekend - wrestling tournament for me! With meets during the week & tourneys every Saturday my housework has totally been put to the way side!

Good Morning Ladies!  Got a phone call from J this morning.  First one since he moved out to the ship.  It was so good to hear from him and he's doing well.  They got snow in Japan today and he said it was so slick that they sent everyone back "home"...he laughed...hasn't had a snow day since high school!  Said it was great to see snow again.  We talked for almost an hour and it made my day!!!

Sherrill - hope the meds have kicked in and your Sailors ear ache is much better.

MNM - Yeah for the amazing show!

Hope you all have a great week!

Jill - mine graduated Jun 28 and picked orders the first week in June. We waited 2 weeks for those orders to pop. Once they popped he requested leave and then made travel arrangements once leave was approved. That all took place the week before graduation. It was rather nerve racking....much more for me than him! Getting orders is very exciting. Please keep us updated.

MNM - have a great time!

Does anyone know how quickly they are giving out orders at this point?  My daughter graduates February 4th and I was just wondering if we should expect her leave to happen immediately or if she will have to wait for her orders, and thus her leave.  She says she has no idea when her orders will come in, so I was just wondering if anyone has any idea if they are backed up in ATO school.  I'm pretty sure most of your sailors have been with their squadrons for a while now so you may have no idea, but it never hurts to ask :-)  Thanks!

Good Morning Ladies & Happy Friday!
Gonna be a beautiful day here...might reach 70 but freezing rain & sleet coming in tomorrow...yep I do believe I'm on that same roller coaster as MNM! Busy weekend ahead....wrestling tourney again....gotta head to the big city for this one.

Glad the kids all made it back safely and happy to hear things are going well for Sherrill's daughter.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Good Morning Ladies & Happy Hump Day!

MNM & Sherrill - Safe travels to your kids as they head back to Norfolk and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you as you say good-bye.  So glad they were able to come home and spend family time with you.

Good afternoon ladies!  Whew I'm taking a little R&R right now....spent 10 hours at a wrestling tournament yesterday and since it was at our school I worked most of those hours...our team came in 4th place and coach wasn't very pleased but my son won all his matches so I was a happy momma!

Sherrill - a Navy snowglobe how cool!

SRohiomom - Welcome!  Glad your daughter made it to P'cola. She has to go thru phases when she first gets there, but they seem to catch on pretty quickly as to how to get around and where to go.  If you haven't already done so I would suggest joining the "Sailors in Pensacola" group.  You will find a lot a very helpful info over there.  My son waited 4 weeks to class up but I know others waited much longer. It's the Navy so get use to the "hurry up and wait"!  My son enjoyed P'cola....he was there from Jan - Jun of last year.  Best of luck to your daughter and tell her to have fun....there's lots to do down there.  And please don't be a stranger on here....we love hearing from new moms and keeping up with your Sailor's progress.

Hope you all have been having a great weekend!

Good morning,
I am looking for some help and guidence. My sailor just got to Pensacola last night and is a bit shaken. Appears to not be the best area around the base, could be months before she classes up. Can any of you ladies give me some perspective.
