Welcome ladies!  Had to chuckle about the description reading wives/gf/spouses...I hadn't noticed!  This group must have been started by a wife/gf LOL  glad you joined!  Most of us are moms but a wife or gf has stopped in a time or two.

sheara71 - I certainly know nothing about the Nuke program other than those sailors have a very long schooling so I probably won't be much help to you.  ATO's are generally assigned to squadrons, they work directly on the aircraft. As for starting in January, well it could just be hold time or perhaps your son will be in a specialized school being he's nuke (purely guessing on that one)  Please stay with us and keep us informed.  I'm curious to know what your son will be doing.

This group says wives/gf/spouses of AT---i'm a mom, hope I can join!!! My son got to Pcola this past Friday from the Nuke program....he is wanting advanced computers and this is what he was given after getting out of the Nuke program.....He was told AE when he left Charleston but ATO when he arrived in Pcola.....so i'm a little confused. he told me he was told he would be working on the advanced computer systems of jets and helicopters....is that what ATO is? He also said he was told school wouldn't start until January

Even though the description states this is for wives/gf/spouses, there seem to be lots of moms on here as well. I get more info from the groups than from my sailor:). btw, BeachBunny have saved several of your posts & forwarded to his dad. TY

last time my some came home he did bring a couple post cards with him.  I was like "son, part of the thrill of getting a post card is seeing where it was stamped!"  He just gave me a look LOL  he obviously hadn't thought of that!  Me & my youngest son did get really awesome throws from South Korea.  They are beautiful and soooo warm.  My youngen has his on his bed.  Oh and my sailor also got me a monkey statue....his Chinese zodiac sign!  Doesn't go with the decor in my house but sure makes me laugh every time I look at it!  LOL    At least he's thinking of us back home!

lol....I asked for mine to get me a bottle of vino, they do make some great types where their heading...he laughed and told me to go to BevMo and pretend he got it for me...he said he didn't have enough room to store it...

Japanese sake....is in bigger bottles, low carb...but the worst hangover I've ever had was from too much sake...hummmm last was just last spring, you've think I'd know better....lol

Well, my sailor did get his sister and I some nice jewelry from his last deployment...I'll take it....

That is so funny joshmom!! I had not thought about that one before, but if my son was on a ship it would be the same thing as far as postcards or he'd probably save them up and give them all to me at once!

TGIF!!!

BeachBunny - you mentioned your son likes food and beer LOL so does mine.  When he went to Japan all I asked for was a postcard from each port visit.  Yeah I got a few but I should have asked for beer bottles...would have gotten a lot of them!  LOL

Have a great weekend ladies!

Hi group...

joshmom and my sailor are on the same boat....Yup, on the water again!!

Mine said after spending over 8 months in the gulf, bombing ISIS...that this cruise will be better bc the ports are in places they don't hate us!!...plus he can speak the language and loves their food and beer!
