Hey AT Moms...

How's everyone doing?...Mine is enjoying being on land. This is the longest he's been on land in 3 years!...enjoying snowboarding, golfing, surfing and popped in on us one long weekend...yup, nice surprised to see his car in the driveway and find him asleep in his room...

I just booked a "family" vacation in July...easy to do since he's on land...lol

Would love to hear about your AT's...:))

Hi Ladies!  I miss you guys!!!  Sure is good to hear from a couple of you and it sounds like all is going well....YEAH!

Candy - you are so right about forgetting to keep the kinship going...I'm guilty!  I cherish the friendships I've gained through N4M but unfortunately we don't keep in touch nearly as much as we should.

My sailor will be graduating Advanced Cal Tech school next week and then coming home for Easter.  A part of me kinda feels guilty about having him home so soon again (was home for Christmas) but after spending 3 years in Japan we're making up for all those holidays he missed...so my guilty feeling quickly faded LOL

Take care everyone.  Would love to hear from more of you. Please stop in and say hello.  AT's rock!!!

Hi Moms!

It seems like once our sailor gets settled in we start forgetting about the kinship we formed here on "Navy for Moms".  I am so thankful for the support I received on here.  I have been blessed to have my Navy son stateside and only one state away, and less than a 6 hour drive.  He has been in for 3 years now, gaining experience, matured, and met his new bride while in school in Pensacola.  We've all been blessed!  I am so impressed with the experience he has been afforded and hope you all are as well.  I just want to say Hi to all of you and to thank you for your continued support1

Hi joshmom...

Longtime no chat....lol

So glad you got extended time with your sailor and that he is now stateside!

Mines finally on land for awhile, after 3 back-to-back deployments...same as yours he's back in training for 6 weeks...then he'll finally work days once back at his home base from training....we met last week for dinner, he was only a few hours from home. He wanted some of his "toys" from home, his golf clubs and surf board....:)

Hello everyone!  Hope this new year is starting out well for you and your sailors.

Last month me and the hubby went to Virginia to see our sailors ship come in (all the way from Japan) and WOW what a sight to see.  Even better he got to come home with us and spend the holidays.  It has been wonderful but yesterday I had to say "see ya later".  My sailor headed off to Biloxi and will be going back to school for Advanced Cal Tech.  I kinda feel like he's back in A and C school and wondering when he'll class up LOL.   Whether he classes up now or later Biloxi won't be a bad place to spend the winter!  I see road trips in my future!  It's exciting to see my sailor starting the next chapter in his Navy life.

Have a great day everyone and please check in.  Would love to hear from you.  Any newbies out there?

Jill - So great to hear from you!  They say "absence makes the heart grow stronger" but geez a whole year.  I hope the time goes by fast for both of them.  Good luck to her on advancement.  My son is up for E5 too.  He missed the first time by just 2 points (bummed him out) then last time he scored higher but quotas were lower and missed again. Third try is a charm right?  Keeping my fingers crossed for all of them.

@joshmom, glad you get your son home for Christmas this year.  This will be the first Christmas in the 3 years since my daughter joined, that she will not be able to come home for Christmas.  Her squadron left on deployment this week.  She made it 3.5 years in the Navy without having to deploy, but they finally got her :-)  When she joined she was looking forward to going out and seeing the world, but then got married and life changes and now not looking forward to being gone so long.  Her husband was in Japan for 3 months before she left and they missed each other by one week!  So it looks like they will be a year without seeing each other, sad for them. She's up for E5 this time, but I just saw the quotas are a little lower and it's her first time eligible, so we'll see what happens.  Hope everyone is doing well this holiday season.
