Hi All from Baldwin County, Alabama. My son was scheduled to leave for BC in May, but they are now trying to get him up there by the end of January! We are overwhelmed with anticipation. I kept telling him that they could call him up early, but wow! He's been hitting the gym trying to prep as much as he can for that new entry fit test required starting January 1.

I'm a Bama mom of a sailor in San Diego. I'm in the Jasper area. Would love to get together sometime, see if everyone else has experiences like ours

So I haven't seen anything on this board for a good while, so I guess I'm reactivating it to see if we have any Bama moms out there with new recruits.

I have a question for anyone who can give me some advice. My son ran off to Vegas in Feb and got married. He did not tell us until 2 weeks later. He ans his wife are pregnant and due to have their baby in October. I have not met his wife since they live in SanDiego. Is it normal for me to feel disconnected from the birth of my first grandchild? I realize that I live so far away and it's not like I can just run over there and help them decorate or anything, but at the same time I feel left out a lot. Does anyone who has gone through this have any advice for me? I would sure appreciate any help at this point.

It varies depending on if they have room for them or not. They try to move them as soon over PIR as possible.

Where in Alabama is everyone from ? I hope it's not a terribly bad idea to drive to PIR, that's what I'm planning on doing. Jenny D- sailors going in with a Seal contract generally move across the street to pre-buds on the friday after pir or is it generally the next week ?
