Hi Moms, PIR is over and it was as fabulous as everyone said it would be! Dropped our new Sailor son off at his new home in GL yesterday afternoon and today he reports to Indoc for five days from 7 am - 5 pm. I believe they told him after two weeks he would be moving again. I suspect he was lonely last night...only had one roommate vs. 75 + !!!

Looking forward to going thru this next stage of their lives with you. Our son will be in GL for 30 weeks, he is in AE/CF program.

What is your son or daughter doing now? Where are they at for school?

Jasmine asked someone how far away they are allowed to go(actually I think she asked afriend who asked someone, knowing her) but she was told they are allowed to go up to 300 miles away
my daughter is allowed to leave w/ a buddy ,or else, as in today, my aunt her son(whos a drill sargeant in th army)and his wife are going to pick up Jasmine, they have to sign her out and back in upon their return... her new roomate Forentino(?sp) has helped jasmine alot, along w/ 'richardson", thse girls have gone together to Gurnee mills, and also have been kind enough to let Jasmine use their cellphones to call home until hers makes it through "security", but as far as I know overnights are not allowed yet
Overnights are Phase III, my son didnt get his this weekend and he was bummed. But said he will get it by tuesday........ I dont know where the heck he thinks he is going all weekend ? But I think it is just the fact that you got it :) I am under the impression that the buddy rule is in effect, but it makes sence that if your with your family they would be considered your buddy.
Buddy rule is in effect, Nick and his two roommates were going to Walmart (?) to pick up somethings that the NEx did not have but they had to find a 4th person to go along. Apparently trios don't work, buddies = 2 Sailors...not three?!!

I think mentally just knowing they have earned the privledge of staying out all night is more important that actually doing it!!!
Great info Molly, It will be awhile be fore any deployments , a lot of school to get through first. But it is great to know that they can stop service when they are gone. It's amazing that how ever old they think they are they still Need us to do things for them. LOL ( and don't we love it ) Hee- Hee. Well I'm Off to make cookies for them now they requested peanut butter and M&M cookies ( I should have asked about sending them some skittles)LOL.
Nick's cell phone does work from his room.
LOL peanut better and skittle cookie.................... Uhhhh Yukky !! You better stick with the original plan :)
Yeah, I just finished the peanut butter ones. Next M&M's. Sure wish I could eat some, But on weight watchers they are a lot of points. So I guess I will just have to be strong. Boy what we do for our kids. LOL
Good for you Jackie ......I have been saying I am going to join weight watchers .....but as far as I have gotten is saying "I am going to join weight watchers" :)
Yeah well, I'm going to Curves but there just seems to be too many curves in the road for me to get there!
Hey - I go to Curves also - I say as I sit for the umpteenth hour on my big rear eating crackers - thinking about going to put p-nut butter on them or cheese and toast them - yum!!!
Our Curves opens at 5:30 am. so that is when I go!!
Peanut butter is good protein Brenda!

Geez - if our Curves opened at 5:30 I might make it! We don't open until 8 am here.
