Are you going to try to go to "A" School graduation? My son said that it was not that big of a deal - I figure that any graduation is a big deal!!! But he should get to fly home for a few days after it - I would LOVE to be able to sit next to him on an airplane with him in his Navy uniform and me in my Navy Mom Sweatshirt. His graduation should be about the end of April - today was his first day of school.
He finally got to have his cell phone!! I at least can leave him messages.

I'm still a Boot Camp mom but in 16 days, I'll be an A School mom. What I want to know is where to get the Navy Mom paraphernelia like sweatshirts, t-shirts etc.
AT the NEX on base and there are others off base - but the one on base had the most variety. You have to have your military guy with you when you buy - especially off base. At the one on base, they never asked to see his ID. I guess because the only way to get on base is for graducation.
Great.... thanks for the info. I'm sure we'll ALL get a shirt or two there. Can't wait.... 15 days!!!
you can get all of the navy t-shirts and par at the navy nex on base just ask yoursailor where to get the goods
My son PIR 3/21 and I will be joining the "A" school family on 3/25, he will remain in GL
Miriam,
If you go to graduation at GL, you can buy all sorts of Navy Mom stuff there in the NEX. Your son/daughter has to go with you, but it is alot of fun and you might just need an extra suitcase to bring your loot home. Be sure to go to the NEX off of the base it is much bigger and less crowded. Congratulations on the graduation of your child and enjoy the shopping.
