Thought it might be nice for everybody to say where they are staying for PIR as a means of knowing who will be in the same place, taking the shuttles, carpooling, etc. and maybe even getting together…Continue

Thought it would be great to learn where everybody's sailor is heading to after PIR.  This can be a great way to open new conversations at the M&G and also make new friends that will be going…Continue

This is the final test for the recruits before they become sailors.  It is an overnight drill held on a ship replica made by Disney, so it is very realistic....the recruits face every challenge that…Continue

Yes, all divisions should have competed in Captains Cup yesterday.

The I'm a Sailor calls can come in anytime on that day...but very rarely will come in the morning (unless received the day before PIR).  The majority come in after 2 pm GL time, but as Marchel just posted, sometimes they can be a little earlier.  So just be ready!

Marchel:  Was that 12:48 GL time?

Can anyone tell me what time the "I am a sailor" calls started coming in on Friday?

Punkin-i deleted my comment to your group because i needed to make a correction. no one on the Pensacola Moms page read your comment as far as i know.  no one will be upset. sorry if we failed to answer your questions....we really try hard to help everyone.

so here's my revised note to PIR 1-28-2011 congratulations to those who have completed BS-21 and good thoughts and prayers to those sons and daughters who face the last challenge.  your SRs are so well prepared.  hang on to your hats girlies and keep your phones close by.  the next couple of days are going to be a whirlwind.  a lot of you are packing right now for PIR...oh there are no words to adequately describe it...your hearts are going to burst with pride!!!  it is BEAUTIFUL!!! so you think you learned a lot while your kiddos were in BC....oh mercy...it's just begun....have fun at PIR and hug your new Sailors tightly. and if any new Sailors are headed to Pensacola then come on along with them....we'd love to have you!!!

and just one final note....our group is tight...so tight that one night a mom in Nebraska posted that her Sailor had called her and he was really sick.  the med. center was closed. he didn't call any one to take him to the hospital and the mother was out of her mind worried. the rest of us moms hardly slept that night worrying about this Sailor.

the next morning he did get into to see a doctor and he was rushed to the hospital with a nearly ruptured appendix.  that's all the mom knew.  her worries were far from over because her son was headed straight into surgery.

so the next thing that happened...a local Pensacola mom got in her car and headed right to the hospital, found the Sailor, snapped a picture of him in recovery and emailed it his mom.

here's hoping you all find a supportive group in the next phase of your Sailor's new Navy life...if you can't find one then create it!!!

I forgot to tell everyone that "Fight for the Troops" was free on Spike TV tonight.  I cried seeing all the men with injuries on there.  God Bless them and theirs, wow what a lifetime battle they will have.  If you get a chance to see it, please watch the UFC fight and support our men and women in the armed services!

Ok let me correct myself-there are a couple of great ones who answer questions in the thread I posted below. Connie-you are one of them! Sorry if that statement upset anyone!

Div 055-910   Get ready! Your Sailors will do great! They will pass this! I know they will! And they will have fun doing BS! Just wanted to wish a good luck to your sailors, and wishing you all happy phone calls!
