Thought it might be nice for everybody to say where they are staying for PIR as a means of knowing who will be in the same place, taking the shuttles, carpooling, etc. and maybe even getting together…Continue

Hi Karen, I believe the initiator of this discussion was able to delete it...but if you could re-enter it (without her name) we would love to read it again. Can't use first names because even now if the RDCs see it, she could lose liberty for PIR weekend for herself or for the entire division and either way would be bad.

Just got back from being with the family. My mothers funeral was today then we all spent time together. My son called while at my aunt's house he said div 054 came in 2nd place during Captain's Cup. Congratulations to div 055 & 058!!!!

Emily and the rest of my N4M's family thanks again for the support during my family's difficult time. My son was much better today. I told him we had just buried his grandmother and he said good, now get ready to get here. He did tell me that after PIR he had to pack up and a shuttle would take him to A school then he was all mine for the weekend. I love that. He then proceeded to give me his list of items to bring with me for him. He told me he bought his pictures pkg A.

BTW div 054 is in the running for Hall of Fame. He says he has a wonderful group of men & women in his division and he enjoys working with all of them. He said if it weren't for them he would not have passed his final run. They had to do it in 12:15 and he did it in 11:57 thanks to all the support and encouragement from his division. So from me to you Thank You all that have SAILORS in div 054. Your wonderful Sailors helped my child to succeed and for that I will always be grateful.

Got a call midmorning from my son and so happened his girlfriend was here as well so was wonderful. Raspy voice from screaming for his teammates at the Captain's Cup and said they kicked butt on the Tug O War.  Was waiting for the line to die down at Pizza Hutt !!!   He sounded very tired but so very excited to be seeing us on Friday.  Also says his team is READY for Battlestations 21 and hoping to get a higher grade than 3.9 ..... go Division 057 !!!!   Bring it home - YOU CAN DO IT !!!!.

Bummer Sandy! Hopefully your sons shin splints will calm a bit now that the divisions are getting to rest and relax so much more!

My recruiter told me tons of recruits get shin splints but they almost all make it through it. I wouldn't worry. It is good not to complain, he is right...the hospital leads to negative things from our limited experience. Plus the Navy does let them call if they don't think things are going to be OK. So odds are your son lost a call because of someone's mistake but you will still get your important call Monday. Remember, this is the Navy, no news is good news.
