KLP - my son is in the Navy down in San Diego and is a Gunners Mate Instructor.  If you would like, I can share with you his phone number and you can call him to get ideas of where to live and where not to live.  Just send me a message in my message box and I'll give further instruction.  They live off base in a 2 bedroom apartment that is really nice.

gvnavydad, I hope you can get a flight soon. I just saw the photo of the week by Great Lakes training Command on FB. They were shoveling the walkwas to PIR hall. OMG, I'm glad we are back in the south! Cold, but no snow! Praying for this weeks PIR Parents. May it clear enough for them to attend!

Have you built a snowman? made a snow angel? don't worry about the weight it just naturally comes with extended cold weather...kinda like the freshman 15

It definately won...our first flight missed getting out by about 3 hours. Since then it has been one cancellation after another. Actually our last cancelation would have been leaving now. It could be worse...at least we are in our hotel. It is really cold today though...no flip flops or birkenstocks today.
