Thought it might be nice for everybody to say where they are staying for PIR as a means of knowing who will be in the same place, taking the shuttles, carpooling, etc. and maybe even getting together…Continue

Thought it would be great to learn where everybody's sailor is heading to after PIR.  This can be a great way to open new conversations at the M&G and also make new friends that will be going…Continue

This is the final test for the recruits before they become sailors.  It is an overnight drill held on a ship replica made by Disney, so it is very realistic....the recruits face every challenge that…Continue

OMG!  I feel so bad for anyone stranded from our PIR 1/28 !!! It would stink not being able to have fun in Chicago with all of this time on your hands -and not being able to see your Sailor!  Guess the weather wins this round.....

Deb, I guess it depends on how you define cabin fever...all I know is they may have to roll me out of here. All we have been doing is eating junk food and watching movies, I must have gained ten pounds. Our sailor texts us occastionally which helps, but also reminds us that were less than a mile away but can't see him.

Wondering if my son got checked into A school at GL today, doubting it since everything there was cancelled. Have managed to find another group to track the next stage & changed my name to reflect that path. Gvnavydad - have you guys developed cabin fever yet?

Finally heard from my son. Arrived safe and sound in Pensacola. Says everyone is so nice. Imagine that - it's not boot camp. Praying for those trying to get Great Lakes for 2/4 PIR

Yes, and PIR 2/4/11 will go on according to RTC.

Sandy you crack me up.  Yes, I would hate to be in Chicago, and I'm with you Sandy, if I couldn't go, you might as well just lock me up.  We were a mess.  Just think if you couldn't make it, and you missed the whole thing.  I hope things clear up for everyone, but it sure would probably take a miracle right now!

Just thinking about all of those parents who purchased flights for PIR this coming weekend and cannot get there for it.  That would be the pits and all of those young men and women who have liberty and nowhere to go.  UGH

ACTmom....unfortunately my younger kids will think it way cool if my son gets a tattoo....His friend got one...but it was misspelled (I dont remember how)...so if he does....he plans on being very careful... "I Love Moom" wont work....

Praying for those going to PIT this fri.....we were just driving on Lake Shore drive this last Sat.....and drivers today were stranded on it....OMG!

My 2 youngins would have thought it cool to be stranded....I most assuredly would not..

Unfortunately, after our 3rd flight cancelation...I could now go to the next PIR for those who can't make it. Stuck here until Friday afternoon now.

With all the turmoil I was feeling about getting to Ohare on time, I can only imagine how these other Moms are feeling with a PIR this Friday.  OMG - I would have a nervous breakdown or either be the town drunk.

So thankful to be home!  My boy is doing so good ~
