Thought it might be nice for everybody to say where they are staying for PIR as a means of knowing who will be in the same place, taking the shuttles, carpooling, etc. and maybe even getting together…Continue

Thought it would be great to learn where everybody's sailor is heading to after PIR.  This can be a great way to open new conversations at the M&G and also make new friends that will be going…Continue

Got home last night. What a trip. PIR day with son...then met him at Midway airport before takeoff. Of course that meant 3 days in a row getting the kids up early. He's off to m-cola (we've already heard 2 times from him). He had to spend about $400 on stuff when he got there....

Just got back home last night, My daughter calls and texts me alot!  She said she is a little homesick, but really loves FL!  It was wonderful meeting some of the Moms and Dads at the M&G.  I really enjoyed it!

Denise - Sorry I couldn't hang out longer with you.  I was frazzled. I'm not sure we got any sleep the entire weekend.  I still feel "bug eyed". LOL!  We better set up a fund for navydad and lojogo - appears they may be there a while.  Yikes!!

Glad most of us made it back home safe and sound.  South Carolina never looked so good ~

KLP - I didnt see you long enough!  Matter of fact I never saw you again after the M&G.  After graduation...I knew where you were....and what you were doing!!  Hehehehe!!!  I know you were the happiest woman in the world!!  Did you manage to stay the extra day without the family?  I'm sure you are ready to start this new journey as a Navy Wife!  HooYah!

LOL...it was quite entertaining everytime we were on base for pickup/dropoff, in the NEX, or when we ran into a shipmate over the weekend.  My son's identical twin brother was with us and he got MANY double takes, questions and comments!

I got home around midnight last night.  What a weekend!  We did not get overnight liberty, but made the most of every moment we had from 8am to 8pm.  My one regret of the weekend is that I did not make it to the M&G (thanks to US Airways)!

Chatted with Erin (lojogo) this morning, their flight for this afternoon has been cancelled.  Looks like they are stranded there till the storm is over and conditions are safe for flying!

We are finally back in Texas and it looks like we brought the weather with us!!! It is 19 degrees today and wind chill of 1!! I truly enjoyed meeting everyone! I could have stayed there visiting for hours! I know these friendship will be friendships for life!!! We did get to have our Sailor all weekend!! We picked him up around 3:00 on Friday and had him until 8:00 on Sunday night! We fed him like crazy, played board games and laughed until our stomachs hurt. The stories he had to tell were wonderful! I soaked up every second. He was really surprised at how much I actually knew LOL! I would never have made it without you all! He is staying in GL for A school. His buddy that left several months before he did is still in GL for A school as well. He was able to hook up with him which gave me some comfort leaving him AGAIN! He also has several shipmates from his division staying on his floor. He text me last night a=saying goodnight and again this morning! I love having the communication. That will make this separation 100% better. Letting go of our adult children is so hard, but I can see now....mine is so ready for this adventure! I needed this weekend and am so thankful we were able to spend it with him. You all are still in my thoughts and prayers! Keep in touch!!!

GatorM....by the way! Your son was a huge topic of conversation with our daughter this weekend! LOL! He is precious!!! I think he is also one of the shipmates on the same floor as my son!! We had so much fun with you guys! I have not heard my husband talk that much EVER!

Take care everyone!!! Let's stay together and plan an annual reunion!!!!

My sailor had overnight liberty on Friday and Saturday. WSe only had her Friday night then she stayed with Bio-mom on Saturday night. It was wonderful seeing her, but definitely not long enough! I lve that we can text/call as often as we'd like. She is at Gl for A school, and said her rack mates are nice. She has a couple of shipmates that she is really close to, who will also be close by!
