Ours was so worried about being late, per his request we got him back at 7:00 each night. We were able to pick him up at 8:00 each morning - yea!

Just curious if anybody here were blessed to have their sailors overnight or for the entire weekend at your hotel? Seems so far most had to return their sailors for an 8:00 curfew (7:30 at the gate).

Hi everyone,

I made it home around 7 p.m. this evening. Had a wonderful weeken with my sailor. I am sorry I wasn't able to make it to the meet & greet but I did meet momof5 at the PIR. What a beautiful event that was. I am so proud of our Sailors.

I was happy to be able to have the entire weekend with my sailor, it was emotional taking him back on Sunday. He stay in GL for A school so we were surprised when we got to drive him back to his barracks and check out the campus. I also love that he now has a cell phone and can call. Like he called to see if we made it home safely.

I hope that although we are no longer bootcamp moms, dads & spouses that we can continue our friendship and support as our sailors venture off to their next journey. The love and support shone from each one of you was very welcomed and will always be appreciated.

What an emotional washing machine of a weekend! Spent every possible minute with my son the sailor. My daughter & I had a sandwich with him at the NEX before sending him back to his ship last night then we drove home to northern Michigan. Made it in 6.5 hours (low flying plane) and arrived at 2:30 am. Having been up since 6 am it was an accomplishment but I was flying on the adrenalin of time with my sailor. Starting to wonder how long the spontaneous tears will last...I spoke with a lot of parents who were not a part of this site and believe even more that we are blessed as a group, to have made the connections & shared the information & support we did. Hooyah to us for graduating along with our sailors.

Hello everyone,

We arrived home in SC about 5 pm today. We spread the trip home over two days, it made the drive a little easier.

It was wonderful to finally meet all of the Navy for Moms (and dads) at the Meet and Greet Thursday evening. PIR was awesome and the time we spent with our sailor was amazing.  It was hard leaving him behind, but knowing that he should be in Goose Creek by Wednesday morning makes me feel better. I am now praying that his flight gets out of Chicago before the blizzard hits tomorrow afternoon.

It was a wonderful time!  I truly enjoyed meeting the other families and the time I got to spend with my sailor, although it was WAY TOO Short!!!  It was hard returning him to the base, but he was ready and excited for the next part of his journey.  Good Luck to all of your sailors!

Was it only me or was that the hardest good bye I've EVER had to face?  I have to agree with gvnavydad ... enough tears to sink a battleship.  I held it together most of the weekend and didn't let my sailor see me cry, but the very last hour of the very last day .... I was DONE!!!  The tears just wouldn't stop and I couldn't hold back any more.  I didn't want to say good bye; I didn't want to leave him there - that was my kid and I wanted to do what I do best .... take him by the hand and take him with me.  But that wasn't to be the case as he is now a US Navy Sailor and going on to even bigger and better things.  Bravo Zulu my son... (okay, more tears...gotta stop this!!)

What an amazing time!  We spent seven hours with our Sailor on Friday and sat with him at the airport on Saturday morning. There is no doubt in my mind he will do well.  I think he is actually looking forward to his future.  When my son marched by during the introduction of divisions, I can only say, every emotion, every ounce of love that I feel for him, gushed out!   I couldn't contain myself any longer.  I did rub his head and get a HUGE Donkey hug!  Wow!  I do love my Sailor!

To all of you - again I say thank you! For your kindness and your friendship.  I truly would not have made it with out your support.

HOOYAH!!
