if you have five people going to the graduation, are the ones not on the list allowed in the gate? do you just say you're going to wait and see if there are extra seats? will they let you do that?

Wow, now that Christmas is over I bet it is really hitting you how soon PIR is approaching. :) That's a good thing right? The sooner the better. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. It is not too late to order ribbons if anyone still wants some to wear to PIR please let me know. They are about the size of your hand, they are a great way to show pride for your sailor and to recognize other N4M members and they make a great keepsake that can even be placed in a frame or scrapbook. They are only $5.00 each, I don't make them for a profit, and no matter how many you get shipping is only $5.00 for Priority flat rate box. If you would like to order some just click on my name and send me a friend request and I will send you the info. Thanks and have a Happy New Year!!!    LaLa

Even though we are allotted 4 seats...we're only going to be 2 maybe 3.  I'm sure that is the same scenerio for others as well.

With only 7 divisions, Fawn, you will have no problem getting extras in.  And there are no tickets...just the names on the list.

OK... I found the answer to my own question. I read this on the FAQ of the Recruit Training Command Website:

Four seats are guaranteed per recruit; however, children 12 years old and younger do not count against the four-guest maximum. The graduating recruit is responsible for identifying those individuals to be placed on the access list. Please coordinate with your recruit via letters regarding who will be on the access list. No additions, deletions or changes will be made to the access list the week of graduation. The four guests on the access list will be admitted into the ceremonial drill hall first. Additional guests not on the access list will have to wait inside the Visitor Center until after the start of the ceremony at which time they will be allowed into the ceremonial hall if additional seating is available as space permits. No additional seating can be guaranteed

I know the RTC site states that there are no extra tickets allowed. I also saw on the RTC facebook page that sometimes they do let extra guests in once all the assigned guests have been seated. (Especially for small graduating groups). I was wondering if anyone else had heard anything about this? Our PIR group only has 7 divisions graduating, so I'm thinking there will be lots of extra seating. Just wondering what the possibility might be.

Diannep-Perfect! That sounds great! I had no desire to wear some fancy little dress and freeze my fanny off =-) We are in Texas were it is still 70-80 degrees and although that might work here.....I am going to freeze there LOL! I just wanted to dress appropriately. Thinking about it now is a diversion to my thoughts of missing my son and if I wait until closer to January...I will not be able to make a decision. =) Thanks again for the advice!!

Alisha I read that article and it just made me so proud. It really brought home what our recruits are setting out to accomplish. I can't wait until PIR to see my soon to be Sailor!
