Wondering if division. 057 is g&g as well. Glad to know they will be learning their place in nuke school on Monday ..something my son has been waiting on for a very long time. Think he's hoping for ET on a sub.

I got a letter today!  All div 056 is G & G.  Boo!  He said they will have Friday with us but will be leaving on a flight out to Charleston at 0430 on the 29th.  I'm assuming that means a.m. He said to dress warm, they've been marching in -7 weather and its getting colder.  They are in week 3-2. He isnt happy about the holdidays not counting.and will be starting weapons next. He says he lost some weight.  His div got there butts whipped for 2 hours straight (IT) for 10 people doing something wrong.  He says they believe in one fight, one team.  He will know Monday if he's a nuclear machinist or a electrician mate, depends on availability and he signed up for submarine duty. Find out he's been writing to a girl.  He's thrilled somebody else other than family is waiting for him.  Hmmm?! I miss him terribly but I'm so happy that he is planning out his future.  All of us should be so proud, our sons and daughters are out making their mark on this world!!  Hugs!!

Deb, My husband is pretty lean too, and he said that was all he has been eating and lots of peanut butte sandwiches! (Protein, gotta get it some how!)

Oh good grief...my son has like 3% body fat, hope he's not starving. He hasn't said anything about food in his letters. He had a dud pay phone so all I got was dead air when he got his 1st call and I've been crossing my fingers all weekend.

Penny- as far as I know it's based on the ship their on, And the diet the RDC has the division on...My brother went through this earlier this year and he was explaining to me.My husbands group is on a high protein but very lean diet. Lots of salads and fruits and very minimal meats is what he told me in the last letter.

So as far as I understand it all depends on the group. Not saying they didn't have it , but as far as I know it's not likely that some of our SR's got that meal.

My brothers division was out of shape, and had some "chubby" SR's as he told me. And they had a limited meal plan. And the RDC's watched what they ate, even through holidays. Not sure if things changed, and every RDC is different.

Hope that helps?

Penny s11div057, you asked what ship and division..It is ship11div054. Sandy ship07div056, you asked where my son will be going. I believe every nuke will leave boot camp and head for Goose Creek, SC. My son says his school starts Monday morning. God bless you all and I hope everyone had a good Christmas in spite of our children being gone.  To those of you who didn't get calls, hang in there. We are all praying for you.

Penny and Sixstring,  My son is a nuke in division 58.  I spoke with him on Christmas Eve, he said they had a meeting for all the nukes (I'm not sure if he meant just his division, divison 57 & 58 or what) but he told me all the nukes are leaving Feb. 1 so he would have the whole weekend with us.  He sounded good, told me that day (the 24th)  was their holiday and Saturday would be a training day, I think he said they would be practicing drill.  I wonder if this was the RDC's way of coping with homesick recruits on Christmas day?  If so, not a bad idea - keep them busy and tire them out :)

Alisha, my daughter said they were all working together now also. Looking forward to them earning more calls! :)
