Thought it might be nice for everybody to say where they are staying for PIR as a means of knowing who will be in the same place, taking the shuttles, carpooling, etc. and maybe even getting together…Continue

Thought it would be great to learn where everybody's sailor is heading to after PIR.  This can be a great way to open new conversations at the M&G and also make new friends that will be going…Continue

Penny, I agree with you.  My son was ready to go.  I'm sure he misses home but I know how excited he was to get started on his future.

Smithsixstring, my son is Nuke too.  Will he be going to Charleston or Pennsicola?

Denise, We got snow too.  Yuck!!!

Forgot to add that he is signed for the nuke program.  He said he has to be at the airport at 3:00 am early Saturday morning.  We will get 9 hours with him Friday, drop him off at the base and meet him at the airport at 2:30am.  He did say to bring his cell phone and will send a list of other items to bring. He also said he would get some time to travel 4 weeks into school but could only travel 400 miles. Ship11/Div054

Got a call from my son today!!!!Great to hear his voice but found out he will be grad & go.  It was the best Christmas present I've ever received.  He is great and said his division is doing awesome.  He said they are like family now!

Ladies, yes our boys miss home but we must remember that most went there with a clear picture in mind. They went there to be part of the best Navy in the world. While our days can be spent missing them, I really do not think they are living minute to minute in sadness. They have an inner excitement that drives them into the next day, the next week and then then on to PIR. that is only the beginning of their job ... The beginning stage will then be over and the real training now begins.
