thank you ..penny u know ur day is TOMORROW girl!
Penny my son called and it was an 847 area code but it said payphone. I think he may have used the calling card we gave him before he left home. I am not sure because I did not ask that question. I do know that he called 4 of us, so he must have now that I think about it.
Penny, I sent my daughter with a calling card and that's what she used when she caleed me. The area code came up 847
Ladies...do you know if they are calling using calling cards or is the navy footing the bill? Just thinking if from a calling card would it show 847 area code or some 800 number?
bls, I know what you mean! I had my phone attached to my body! I didn't think my daughter would call like her division the day before because she was on duty that night. Typically, they don't allow you to make a seperate call if you are on duty when your div. calls, but since her entire div passed their 1st test, they let her make it up the next day! I couldn't believe it when i saw the beautiful 847 area code come up on my caller id! I stared at it for a moment before i was able to answer!! Best area code i've ever seen!!!
I finally received my first phone call from my daughter on friday night at 9:30, pays to have that phone attached to you at all times. we were at my husbands xmas party and the band had just started playing and it was one of the happiest moments in a while that i have experienced. she of course was crying when we started and i told her to get it together that the time was to short (5 minutes). and she did just that and she told me everything she could think of. it was absolutely wonderful hearing her voice and knowing that she was doing just fine and hoping that her division pulls it together soon so they can get more calls. she was so happy that she isn't a grad and go and we can spend the whole weekend with her. i haven't had alot of time to get on here to see what everyone else is saying but i hope that everyone is well and also everyone is getting letters and phone calls from their recruits. what a rollercoaster ride. also i want to wish all of you Happy Holidays and a blessed New Year!!!!
DadInValley-- G&G is one of those things you just really gotta wait out, alot of times they don't know right up until around Battle Stations.
I just got my letter yesterday. So you are next Penny the letter will come....:) and we want to be the first ones to know !!!!
