gvnavydad, mine isn't worried at all about it either he simply says, "we'll pass".  And I am sure that they will.  Haven't heard, however, about the swimmers and if they made it.  I know that my son would be wishing he could be there to help them but not sure they allow "coaches" !!!  I think I will go out to the "deppers" forum and remind moms that if their kids can't swim .... THIS IS THE NAVY, WE ARE ON A SHIP SURROUNDED BY WATER, go get some lessons for your sons/daughters NOW before they enter boot camp.

I am sure the calls will start soon and...well apparently a whole lot of shaking will be going on based on phone placement. Trying to say this gently, but it is funny. :-) My son wasn't even slightly worried about battle stations. I am sure all of 55 and 56's boys (these are the all male division right?) will be calling soon. Can't wait to hear those smiles beaming through your posts.

Ladies this is who we are

I have carried a  child within my body,I have kissed boo boos ,mended broken hearts, been puked on and peed on ,I have been woken up in the middle of the night by a feverish child and more. But I wouldnt have it any other way.My body is not that of a super model but when I look in the mirror I see a strong, loving ,nurturing, hard working mother with a child in the NAVY.

Sandy:  You are in for some welcome relief when he is in A School because the restored communication is wonderful!

Penny:  Just be ready for possibly "TIRED" in his voice...the I'm a Sailor call...because they are very tired then (up for clost to 36 hours then)!  My son had been "energized" by an energy drink by then so he was ok...but still I could tell he was tired. But it didn't matter....knowing I was talking to my sailor boy was fantastic!  His call from Ricky Heaven a few days later (having a pizza party) --he sounded much more excited then!  And you have one smart guy there, Penny!  Good for him to almost score a perfect score!
