Welcome Zachsmom to the group. There can always be a delay anytime, you do things at the Navy pace, on Navy time! :) Good luck to your sailor!

Hi all! Happy to join this group. My son is in A School in GL. His rate is GSM. He started A school on 9/27. He's hoping he will be done before Christmas, but can't get an answer yet. He said there could always be a delay between BECC and Strand school. Either way, he's coming home for Christmas! HooYah!

I'm very proud of my EMFN, he's going to take his E4 test on Thursday, can't wait to see if he passed. I wish him the best of luck.

Thank you ladies for the shoulder, it was difficult this morning at the airport, but I was really happy with the people that worked there. They let all of us through the gate to be with him until he boarded his flight, so I thought that was really nice. He should be calling soon to let me know he made it alright. I know he won't be deployed at least for a month so we get to talk to him until then.
I love this web site, it's a great support group!!! :)

Rhonda--
Enjoy his last hours home, make or take him to his favorite breakfast, if there's time, and hug him for all of N4M's. San Diego should be a wonderful place, its warm all year, it doesn't get cold like Chicago does, so he should have a great time. When you need a friend to share with, just write a note here, and one of the moms' will give you the invisible kleenex and shoulder for the support you need.

Hello everyone-- well my son is leaving in the morning to fly to San Diego. The first time he has ever flown on a plane. I think he's a little nervous and excited. It's all a bit surreal tonight, but I know tomorrow will bring on the tears. I'll miss him, and I'm very proud of him. I wish him the best of luck in his new career.
I also wish all of your sailors the best!!!

Hi Ladies-My son started school last Friday which was earlier than they orginally told him. He said he should be done around the end of Sept. They picked their top three choices and he said he may get verbal orders in a few weeks. Does anyone know if a Sailor normally gets one of their choices or not? Just curious. He did warn me that he may have to go straight to his destination and not get leave.
