Welcome Britt's mom- I hope we can help you with any questions you might have about your daughter's time in the military! We do our best to answer all questions! Good luck to her and to your family!
My son is an EM and finished his school a couple weeks ago. He's awaiting his orders to see when and where he will be going!

I think most people will be on hold now because of the flooding in MIllington. There is an article on Navy Times.

Hi Farrah--
My son graduated from GSM A just about a month ago, he was on hold for about 2 weeks waiting for his orders. He is now on a destroyer in Norfolk and will be deployed sometime this month for 6 - 8 months.

Thanks Gen for answering my questions! I got the impression from my son that he is hoping for Japan but guess he'll just have to wait to see if that works out.

Saw some questions about EN and saw Jen answered them pretty darn GREAT..YES they do work VERY LONG LONG days...and longer ones on deployments....Seems as though Schools are backed up though! Most engineers school are approx 3 months...some have to go on the ATT or strand classes, which are not that much longer, basically a matter of weeks.
From what I am reading seems as though the Navy is "backed up"-Sailors just need to keep busy while waiting....♥

Hello ladies..saw someone mention FTS..my son is in the FTS...was called TAR when he joined though...Has not made much of a difference SO far....he went directly from A school to WA then deployed 2 months later and is currently leaving again...I have spoken to many of TAR/FTS people and the program seems to be fading out and is not "carrying" the same rules as it once did...
