Hi Wendy-
My son found out the last week of A school. He seems to like being in Norfolk so far, and is getting ready for a 6 - 8 month cruise.

Thanks Gen! That does help. If July 20th is a possibility we will not plan another trip to Chicago. When do they find out where they will be heading after A school?

Hi Wendy-
My son was in A school for GSM, he started in about Dec 10, had two week shut down at Christmas, and one week medical hold and finished about Mar 26. He arrived on his ship in Norfolk April 8, after a two hold waiting for his orders to Norfolk. Hope this helps.

Hi all! My son is GSM and just moved over to A-School this past week(PIR 4/23/10). He seems to think that he will be done July 20. After reading through the posts this seems optimistic! How long have other GSMs been in GL?

I just had to brag a bit about my son, he just graduated BECC for EM and is waiting for ATT to start. Pretty much in the top 5% of his class. He said that they aren't handing out orders until the new fiscal year which starts in Oct., so he will be there for awhile on hold. Yuck!
