Hi everyone!  My SR currently is ABH, trying to get spec ops.  I'm not sure exactly what ABH entails, and the internet has never been very helpful.  If anyone could tell me what life is like for a sailor with the rate of ABH, what the job entails, extra details, that'd be great and much appreciated :) Thanks!

Lizzy, they're the ones on the flight deck that direct the aircraft, chain the aircraft down, clean the flight deck etc. is he in the fleet already or still in A school? My husband said if he's still in A school he has a long way to go! I believe he needs to do his term then cross rate. My husband loves being and ABH! I got to go to work with him one day and had so much fun on the flight deck while they landed aircrafts

He hasn't even graduated boot camp yet, ha.  Is it alright if I private message you asking some more questions?

My Son is An ABH, so he will chock and chain he's first year..then he will decided if he wants to be a red shirt or a yellow..both are very diffrent from another.. He will be a blue shirt until he has the opertunity to go in one of these directions.

very cool, thank you for your help!

Flight deck or hangar deck. At first chick and chain aircraft. There are 15 or so qualifications they go through even if they went to A school at least in the hangar deck. My son was there on both his carriers (he has been in 15 years and is an ABH1.
2 Carriers and 2 shore duties. Sea duty is 5 years before being eligible for shore duty.
