Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My daughter will be attending A School in Pcola after BC which she begins Feb 6. Anyone else have a sailor attending A School at that time?

My son starts ATC in Pensicola. He graduates on 2/1 from BC. Not sure of his start date. What does A school stand for?

My daughter will be graduating div 086 tomorrow as well and going on to Pensicola for A school (advanced training I think?)...she´s soooo excited even tho she was incredibly tired after battle stations 21. striplingwarriormom, if you have time to explore some more of the pages available to your peruse, you´ll get most all of your questions answered (and then some). Hi striplingwarriormom, My son also graduated 2/1 and is in P'Cola. My son is a future AD. Don't know what "A" stands for (maybe Advanced) but it means they're doing basic education for their future jobs. Different "A" school, different jobs. I'm just glad their not freezing in GL anymore. LOL. P'Cola is so much warmer.

My daughter graduates boot camp tomorrow! Saturday she flies to Pcola. During her Im a Sailor call she mentioned her report date and graduation date for AD are like 2 weeks apart?!? Was that the lack of sleep talking? Or are they really condensing the schooling?

Maybe she meant the date A school starts for her. I don't think it's possible to finish in 2 weeks. They have a LOT to learn! Our son got to P'cola on 3/2. He began school on 4/3 and will graduate on 5/9 just to give you an idea. I think the wait to class up for school was longer before he got there. The good news is they get to come home right after A school. Yeaaaaa!

After she got there she said that it may be 3 months that she is there. I am planning more like 6 months- then I can be happy if its less! CANT WAIT to see where she will be stationed!

Mine asked for West Coast and thought he might get his first choice since he wants to specialize in F18's and not many ask for that. One of his roomates just left last week to work on helos (sp?) in California. Your daughter will get to pick what kind of aircraft she will work on which will help determine her duty. Maybe she will be close to you in California!
I'm impressed that she is going to be AD. I barely know how to put gas in my car... -
