You know that Folger's commercial where the kid comes home Christmas morning from deployment and sneeks into the house, well, facebooked with Kat yesterday, "Don't know when I'm coming home" Boo- I say. "Are you done with school?" "Yes", she said. "When do you leave?" "I don't have my ticket yet?" " Will you come home first?" "idts" is her answer. Do you want to Face Time?I ask. Then, she says, "Got to go back to class" OK......:( . So off to work I go. Dad was wondering about calling her but got busy. I get home from work and Katelyn said Amanda was looking for Kat and she told her she was at Samantha's. WHAT!?! Dad tells her "Thanks, Dumbass" I ask "Kathryn's here?" Dad and Kate try to deny all. Seems that Kat was at the airport waiting for a flight home and had her friend come pick her up so she could surprise us. Dad didn't even know about this. She's home on leave for 2 weeks and then reports to Norfolk for C School until then end of August. After that, she'll be San Diego bound. I'm one happy mom right now!! HooYah!!
Smile09-We found out on our last day that we could have checked her in and then out, :( . Would have loved to known that but ask him to find out. i wouldn't want you to miss having him as long as you can. Have fun!!
Heard my son's voice this morning, it may have been at 4:20am but atleast I heard his voice. I'm a Happy Mama today.
which japan page?
Hey all, my son received orders. Norfolk for C school then to Japan by Aug21st. He texted me HSL-51. Anyone have a sailor over there? Looking for info on cellulars and such. He is graduating from Pcola June 7th, anyone else?
@Momof4 - thank you so much! Do you think I'll be able to check him out after he's supposed to have checked in for curfew? Thanks again:)
Smile09 - You do not have to have your sailor to get on base. Just have ID for all persons in vehicle. Tell them where you need to go, either the barracks, which is what we did, or the hotel and he could meet you there. You will have to have ID to check him out. If more than one person goes to check him out they all need ID. This is what we needed to check our daughter out. And you or the same person who check him out must return and check him back in. It doesn't take long and if he has his phone you can call him and he can be down stairs waiting for check out. Have fun! Be sure to visit the museum. It's great.
Hello! If anyone has visited the base in Pensacola and stayed at the Gateway Inn, I would like some information about driving onto the base and checking in at the hotel. We are planning to arrive in the later evening and I know my Sailor needs to check us into the hotel. However, will we need him there to drive onto the base in the first place? He doesn't have a car and the base is HUGE. Any information about procedures or if you know of another place where I can get information, it would be greatly appreciated.
