How long were your boys/girls in A school before they could come home?  I asked my son last night and he said he has no idea how long he will be there.

Happy Valentine's Day to all the AD moms, wives, girlfriends, and others!

My son has only done one watch since he got to his base, he is preparing to deploy in the next week or two.  However, he has just finished all of his schooling so he may do watch more often now.

Just wondering if any of your sailors are doing watches. Smee worked all day and now has watch until midnight. (WALKING around a building keeping an eye on the helos). Then back to work at 8 am. He has another watch on Sunday night.

OK, thanks! My father is coming for a visit, not knowing my son might be done with school by then. So we are really hoping that my son can take his leave right after A school, and be here to surprise my dad! It really looks like that may happen now! :)

My son didn't realize he was going to C school until he started his strand classes.  He came home for 12 days between A school and having to report to Whidbey.  He arrived November 23 and started C school on January 2, before he started C school he worked at FRC.  So he didn't have much time to get bored, his squadron split up - half deployed to one place a week before he got there, the other half deployed to another place the week after he got there.  He is anxious to catch up with them but at the same time, has made some friends at the base.  A school for AD isn't long, the waiting to class up is sometimes the longest period.

My son is in P'cola in A school. Says its only 5 weeks, graduating in 3. Does everyone go to C school after this, he hasn't said that he is or isn't, but that he would get leave between A school and where ever he goes next. I thought his school would be longer.

My son started C school last Monday, he really likes Whidbey.  He has made lots of friends and is always going somewhere or doing something.  He is pretty sure that he will be deploying to catch up with his squadron in either late February or early March.  He still has no roommate and agrees with smee that C school is pretty easy.

My ADAN is off on deployment with his squadron, and things are going OK, although our boys (and girls) can have long work hours. What's new with everyone else?

He likes it pretty much, he says its cold all the time.  He is keeping busy at FRC until school starts on January 2nd.  One of his friends is still in Pensacola but the other one is there.  He had a roommate that he really liked for a few weeks but they moved him to another barracks which is too bad because they got along good.  He sounds a little down the last few days, it will be the first Christmas that our family has been apart, but I know it is the first of many.  It is great that Smee gets to come home for Christmas, I hope you all have a wonderful visit.  I will tell him that your son says C school is easy, he isn't looking forward to more school but I think once he gets into it he'll be fine.
