YAY Bluewater!!! 3 more days, well not even...2 days and graduation on the 3rd morning!!! Where is he actually going? My daughter is going to be on North Island - Naval Air Station, near Coronado, so it makes me wonder if it could be the same place! ;-)
Thank you Bluewater!!! Let us know when your son gets his orders!!! I hope he gets what he wants!! ;-)
vtownmom, we're not sure yet if our daughter will get C School or not, from what I've seen from many past AD's, they do C School at their first command, sometimes right away, but other times they may *work* first, and then go to C School a few months later.
Our daughter got her orders this past week, and she is pretty happy with what she got, although it wasn't exactly what she wanted. She is going to San Diego and will be working on Greyhounds! What's really awesome about this, is that our son in San Diego as well, and so is our Marine Nephew & his wife...so she will have family there, aside from deployments of course. Her job will be mostly shore duty, even when deployed to other countries. She will spend very little time on a ship in this 4 years, which she is very happy about, lol.... She said she feels like she is getting the best of both worlds, the freedom that shore duty allows, but still getting to experience being on a ship at some point, for just a very short amount of time. She graduates in 2 weeks, I can hardly believe it!
Sending friend requests as we "speak."
We can PM last names and figure it out:)
vtownmom, hopefully your son won't be down there that long! My daughter arrived 6/22, classed up for AD last week on August 14th, and will graduate Sept 20th - so just 3 months. She was so happy this morning - she got the highest score in their class on their first test today!! She was laughing, that "of all things," she is good at aviation warfare!! lol
My son is also an AD with the VFA-151 in Lemoore. He has been there since January 2nd and seems to really enjoy it.
