yeah then she is an airmen :) she should rank up after C school. to an E-3 . :) you're welcome. it will get easier to understand as the time goes by :) its taken me a while to figure out my husband lingo but im getting there hahaha.
Airmen hace bright green patches on their uniforms :)
awe im glad you got to hear from her :)
she is an airmen.
well depending on her rank.
An E-1 is still recruit
E-2 to E-3 is an airmen (AD AA)
E-4 and on she will be considered third class and up depending on her rank... .so AD3 AD2 AD1
also once she gets her watch quals done, she will start to have watches... they should only be 4 hours each watch, but it takes a toll on them depending on the hours. :) she is fine :) just a busy busy girl
they are able to call whenever. but when my husband first got there he was so busy we rarely talked , mostly at night for a few minutes. she has to get her quals done, on top of PT. also since she she just got there, she is still phase 1 so she has to muster multiple times a day and since she hasn't classed up yet she gets to clean ALOT . they keep them very busy. I sent my husband his computer before i got down there and we would skype. it was hard for him to talk not only because he was really busy, but his roommate was really loud so it was hard to talk on the phone. if she is really sick she will go to medical but would still be able to call you. :)
Peggy, my daughter was the same way - before BC, she was all about being on a ship and thought it would be so cool - and now, not so much, lol.
UrabissWife, there seems to be more & more girls going for AD lately - we can do anything a man can do, right!!! ;-)
We like to tease our daughter about when she needed a tire changed at age 16/17 and she had a complete meltdown when dad showed up and wanted to teach her how to do it, so she could do it on her own if ever needed another time!!! And now at 24 years old she's going to be an airplane mechanic, wow!! LOL!!! She did start learning how to do things on her car that was forever having problems, so she wasn't afraid to tackle mechanic work if someone showed her what to do & then they said AD was a good fit for her when she took the ASVAB. She really is a tough little thing though, a 4'11" total spitfire!!! She looks ALL girl on the outside, but she's a little BA on the inside!! ;-)
i take that back, its not promised she will get where she picks. in the end they put them where they need them. but if they get top of their class, they have a better chance of getting where they picked if there is an opening. :)
I really hope they enjoy being AD's. there was only one female who graduated with my husband. and there is only one female in his shop who is an AD. there are other females in the squadron whom are different rates though so she will have friends that way :)
