DenverNavyMom- I just saw your msg. today (Sun.) ridiculous!  I have way too much junk in my inbox.Anyway, yes he got his orders. Sasebo Japan for 3 years.  :/
they will be here in June for a bit so it will be better to talk to them then.  Mixed feelings.  Everything else is going well.  Good to hear about your sailor staying in MS.

Congrats, hope he likes it.  Like I said previously, mine had a really good experience there.  I don't know anything about ASW though. Wish mine would get his orders, he told me last night it won't be until the end of June.  His grad is 07-18 so that won't give him much time to make arrangements for where ever he is headed.  Are you on facebook?  There is an oceanography page on there.

My son received his orders today.  He will be at the Stennis Space Center for oceanography ASW.  He is pleased with this post.  I am excited for him!

My son finally called today !  He started his "job" yesterday but said they only filled out paper work.  He really wanted sea duty but thinks he'll like the port duty okay.  He said it is mainly a desk job. He is starting with a sailor who graduated in the class prior to his so he knows her.  That's helps.

I can't wait until I'm able to go down to see him.  It's nice to talk on the phone but I really miss him in person :)

jrose, i know only a little bit about about mine warfare and i will send you a PM.  I'm not comfortable putting what little I know on here at this point.  I haven't found any groups for Stennis Space Center.  There is one for the ship that is Stennis but that is based in Washington state.  The little I know about Stennis is what I read on the website.  So basically nothing.  They do have a facebook page if anyone is on FB and is interested in looking at it.  When I first went on I went back thru the photos that were on there, that was kind of cool.

Sheesh, oh noooooo. I'm so sorry! Still a happy day for him though.

At Stennis there is the fleet survey team, mine warfare and anti submarine warfare.  My sailor was part of FST and it was considered his sea duty.

Oh denvernavymom !  This is the first I've been able to get on here today.  He graduated at 0900 this morning....I haven't heard from him.  I guess he gets a sponser who takes him to Gulfport to get set up there.  I'm hoping he'll contact me then. What was Stennis like?  Pretty cool?

@jrose, when does your son graduate?  Mine is going to be at Stennis also.  What is this about teams?  I know my son is going to portside and his friend is going to be seaside.  Other than that, I don't know anything!

@Eve's Mom, my son did say he knew your daughter.  They all hang (hung)out together.  I think he'll like Stennis also.

@kellig...what is the scoop on teams?

Comment by Eve's Mom on March 26, 2014 at 11:53am

Shesh, I went on FB and looked at my daughters pictures and I saw one where both your son and my daughter were tagged in. I hear Stennis is a good place to be stationed at. I'm sure your son is going to like it there.
