Thanks DenverNavyMom! My daughter is very excited! I guess I'll have to start planning trips to California.

Talked to my son tonight and he gave me the scoop on the teams at Stennis.  I'd be happy to answer questions!

Sheesh. We also toured the stennis space center the other day! We didn't know they stationed sailors there until we went on the tour. One of the mainNaval oceanography offices is right there!

Sheesh, I'm here in Biloxi. We are here visiting our sailor on the weekends for the month. If you can tell me a bit about your sons graduation maybe I could get some photos for you.

Yes! My son was at the front with the "Officers?" who handed out the awards.  I guess the kids top of the class do it for the graduating class before them.  My son wanted to go to San Diego but was assigned Stennis instead.  I'm sure they did know each other.  There aren't too many in each class.  I saw some pictures of her graduation because Andrew was tagged in them on FB.  He did say they usually give their phone to someone else to take pictures for them.  I made him promise !  Good luck to your daughter in San Diego :)

My daughter's PIR was on 10/18/13. She graduated AG A school last week on 3/19/13. Graduation was bumped up one day because of the advancement exams on the 20th. Shesh, I'm sure your son knows her. She also graduated at the top of her class and I'm sure your son was at her graduation presenting the awards. Her duty station is at the Fleet Weather Center in San Diego. Don't feel bad about not attending. I was not able to attend either. Tell your son to have someone takes pictures for him. That's what my daughter did. Other sailors that will be graduating at a later time do attend graduation and if your son knows any of them, he can ask them to take pictures.

kellig, I know he is going to Stennis and I know he is focusing on the oceanography aspect but not sure what it's called.  My son doesn't tell me alot of details.  He figures it's not important for me to know.  I get so frustrated trying to get info out of him. Arggg, kids !

He said out of his group graduating, only one set of parents are coming because they don't live that far away.

Glad you had a nice time Nola, I am still a little envious!!

Sheesh, my son was at Stennis as part of the Fleet Survey Team (FST).  It was oceanography, do you know if that is where he is headed?  It was a very good experience for my son so if that is where your son is going, I hope it is as good for him.  We didn't go to his A school graduation either and it didn't sound like there were that many that did.  There is a small chance we will make it to C school grad in July but alot of things would have to fall into place for that to happen.
