We are planning our PIR for 3/7/2014. Hoping to hang out at the airport with our son. He will be going to Biloxi (AG) any idea which airport he will depart from after PIR?

Well, the next duty station is shore and pretty high odds that it will not be out of the country.  But then again, this is the Navy so you never know!!  I have no idea what their school schedule is like so I can't even guess if you will get a chance to meet him or not.  I know he said he is in the toughest part of the class now plus studying to take the advancement test in March.  I will put a bug in his ear tho!  Do you know the dates you are going?

I'm always afraid the next duty station will be out of the U.S. or deployed for 6-9 mo. on a ship.  You need some warm weather too. Maybe we will get to meet N?  Not sure if our paths will cross. We hope to do a lot of sightseeing and wandering on our own. Hubby was stationed there eons ago so he is curious how things have changed.

I am soooo jealous of those of you headed there!  We probably won't get a chance to visit him until he moves onto his next duty station :(

I'm also looking forward to the warm weather in Biloxi too when we visit in March too!

Ryansgirl80-Hope to check out Jenny's Place when we are there next month.  Any other places to not miss ?  except the warm beach that is.  ;)  Have been in the deep freeze for so long not sure what to expect.

Roxanne349- My husband said that it will be next to impossible to continue his education in A-school. They cram a whole semester of college courses in 2 weeks at a time!!(they say second hardest a-school in the Navy) He also said that they have many duties other than class to attend to. But he said he can start his education at his duty station, they encourage it!

Hi! Burgota- You can bring it, but he can only get it from you when you see him off at the airport and take it on the flight with him to Biloxi. But he will not be allowed to have it with him on base and in the barracks at PIR.

Hi jrose, thank you for letting me know.  I am really concerned that he will not start classes right away.  We were hoping that he would be done by August.  His sister is getting married in September and he is suppose to be in the Wedding.  Will he go directly to MS following graduation or will he stay in GL?

Comment by Stace on January 28, 2014 at 10:29am

My son graduated boot camp on Feb 28th and then heads to MS for AG School.  He already has Associates.  He wants to finish getting his degree.  Will his schooling start immediately or will he have to wait?
