Hi, LMCoil. My son just graduated from A school for AS last Wednesday. Once he got to Pensacola after PIR, he did not have a long wait. They have to go through IINDOC, ATT and AWAT first. He arrived in Pensacola on Aug. 9. I'm on my way right now to pick him up. I'll see him this afternoon. Ginger, that's great that you will be seeing your sailor soon. Must be rough not seeing him for over a year. Were you able to keep in touch with him while he was in Japan - like with e-mails?

Thank you for the warm welcome. I do agree that being in the dep programdoes give the boys a chance to say see ya later to the friends for a while. I'm gald he only had a 6month delay for BC. Another Depper we know had 11 months I think that is just a bit to long. but you learn the Hurry up and Wait.

Now a side note I have heard that once PIR happens the Aschool for AS has a back log anyone know if that is so? and if it is any clue on how long the delay has been?

Hi, LM Coil. Yes, you probably can learn a lot hanging around here. My son just graduated A school yesterday for AS. He really likes the base in Pensacola.

Well, I was planning to attend Jake's A school graduation, and then drive back to Michigan with him, but now he is on hold in Pensacola until 11/30. I though about calling the Navy and throwing my weight around because I'd made vacation plans to be there. But, then I thought better of it. I'll rearrange my schedule. I'll miss his graduation from A school (no big deal), and just reschedule my little scoot down to Florida. My motto in life has become "WHATEVER". Makes everything easy.

They are getting better... they now allow you, in fact, encourage you to attend the swearing in ceremony... that is different than when my son joined!
