While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Korysmom8 on February 2, 2013 at 9:54pm: I was just at my sailor's A-School graduation 1/24/13! Highly recommend the Navy Lodge! It's only $65, very clean, close to the Navy Museum, lighthouse and right on the beach! The staff was very friendly there too. Had to get my sailor off to the airport the same day of graduation for his next duty station on Coronado Island in San Diego. Would have liked a little more time to visit but everything about graduation is very nice . Take lots of pictures!! You will love it!

Comment by ddd - Ship 11 Div 082 on February 2, 2013 at 9:20pm: I went to my daughter's A-School graduation and it was wonderful! They really are happy to have the parents there. You can video the ceremony, take pictures, it is held in a small room with their class. Your son will be able to give you a tour of the building and grounds, you can't go into their quarters when he needs to check out, but then he has liberty and you can enjoy Pensacola! Congratulations to your new ATC!

My son is about to graduate at the end of this month (actually 10 days from today). It has been a huge challenge for him but he is determined! Congrats on being 1st in class after Block 1. Block 2 becomes more hands on but still need to ask questions and keep studying! My AC is at San Nicholas Island - about 90 miles off shore from Los Angeles and loves it!

There was a shore duty in California that someone in my husbands class picked. Later found out it was about a 5 hour drive from a good beach! They were pretty bummed.

My son has completed block 1 today and is currently 1st in his class and he said that's when they get to start picking their choices for duty stations! He would love shore duty if something is available! I'm so excited for him! Where's a good place for an 18yr old sailor to go? He's rattling off Hawaii, Key West, California, Whidbey Island.

She is always very hard on herself and low in confidence. She went to a tough private school(very hard grade scale too), I'm sure it has prepared her well!
