Yeah.....I can't tell you how many times I asked my husband about c school and he said it has NOTHING to do with getting stationed on a carrier or not.  You go if they tell you, and as far as I can tell, it seems like you do c school either right away or later anyway.  I almost wish my husband would have had to do it, instead of having it possibly in our future.  Oh well, that's all part of it.  If they get married by Feb, then it'll probably be ok with his orders including her.  My husband got his orders about 5 weeks before graduation.  Sounds like you as a parent are well prepared for whatever might happen....they like everyone else will just have to live and learn :)

No, he thinks he won't go to a carrier because he was told he had to go to c school first....he, like so many young sailors, is listening to ppl who don't really know. I try to tell him to wait and see.....I remember being in and how it was.....he just classed up yesterday so he won't be done til probably til april or maybe early may...they don't know what they are in for....I have told her as ready as she thinks she is to "go anywhere", being a Navy wife isn't what she might think....she is 19 and has never lived anywhere but home. I kinda worry about how his classes will go with them texting til 1 or 2 in the morning and her trying to plan a wedding and talking those kinda details.....it will all work out though, I know they think they have all the answers, so I am just gonna leave it be and when it all clears I will just bite my tongue and not say I coulda told ya'll that. lol

He most likely WILL get stationed on a carrier.  Most of the orders my husband saw handed out were to carriers.  Now, a married sailor will NOT have to live on the ship, he would be able to stay with his wife off of the ship when it's NOT deployed or when he doesn't have duty on the ship.  Some unmarried guys have this option as well, maybe that's what he's referring to??

Slimslam - I do not belong to that group, but I will def look for it! thx

Esther - so do you know if he could get orders to a carrier straight outta A school? I am not really looking for them to hurry up and get married....I wanted him to get outta this sorry town and away from these "friends", most of which were kinda homeless, drug taking, going no where in their life moochers; I really want him to realize that the world is a really big place with a whole buncha options and he could have a really great time away from here.

My husband JUST got home from pensacola yesterday! whooohooo.....alright, I'll answer what questions I know jojo....As far as taking leave, there's NO way that would ever happen.  He would have to have permission, and get married on the weekend as far as I know.  But there's NO way he would get out of classes for it.  He could live off base, it's called brown bagger status, but if he doesn't have much school left I'm not sure what the chances of getting it would be.  As far as C school goes, I don't think he has any control over that, it def. has nothing to do with whether he is married or not.  My husband was told he might have to do c school, we're married and have two kids.  There should be more info on here, and online.  Anti M is one that gives alot of reliable advice and Angie.....goodluck!!!  My advice would be that he needs to get married ASAP in order for it to affect what his orders are....it might already be too late for it to make a difference on his orders.  For example...an umarried no dependents e-3 can get stationed oversees, an e-3 WITH dependents will NOT get stationed oversees.  Sooo, your sons orders could end up being oversees, BUT she would not be on his orders and the navy would not pay or provide for her to go with him.  Just a scenario that has happened, but would hate to happen to your son.

I have a couple of questions: my son has been in P-cola for a few weeks now....he has a girlfriend here and they r engaged.....she has picked a date in feb, he won't be done with school by then....I am trying to talk to him about holding off because of not being able to get leave to get married, living arrangements there, and not knowing where he will be stationed; now, he has said that someone told him he can take leave in feb, that married ppl in A school can live off base, and that he won't get stationed on a carrier cuz that requires C school; now, when I was in A school, you could not take leave during school and although I didn't know any married ppl in A school, I never heard of any students being able to live off base; the thing about the orders I have no clue about; does anyone have any info or know where I can get some?
