My son is just on the plane now to BC so he's a couple of months out from A school but it is good to be part of this group early to see what everyone is going through!

Calbransmommy - glad to hear everything is going better for him and his tattoo tribute made me cry too!  Hopefully my son doesn't get any more tattoo's, he and I got one together when he turned 18 and last year he got two more.  UGHH  I am not sure if its PMS or I just miss my son so much - it helps to be able to talk, text and skype with him but not to be able to hug him and kissing him hello or good bye is killing me - he says he can come hope Dec 16th and I can't wait.

Keep in touch.

calbransmommy - tell him not to worry it really isn't that bad - my son did all the training and tests before he classed up last week and it was fine.  tell him to hook up with someone else that is going thru it too (plus they have study groups).  I was worried when my son told me what all he had to do before being able to class up but he did just fine and is enjoy the AC classes - today is his first test so I am anxious to hear how he did.

My sailor got to Pensacola for A school on Saturday night. PIR weekend with her was wonderful. Now on to the next phase.

calbransmommy - my son also said he can come home after classes on 12/16 - I told him I would make arrangements but he said he would do that - wow!  He usually asks for my help but the Navy has given him so much confidence and responsibility - I guess my baby has grown up! :)  I am so looking forward to see him.

Jojo - I am new to this but check out the navy lodge in pensacola.  I was looking online because I am planning on going there during Thanksgiving and it wasn't that expensive.

My son is looking into this right now - he was by his roommate they get off 10 days during Christmas - I really hope so.  He just started school on Monday so we will see. Once I hear anything i will let you know.

I probably already know the answer to this, but since so much has changed since I served, here goes: while they are waiting for their class to start, can they leave the area? Like to come home for a visit? My son will PIR on 10/14, which means he will be in A school for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sounds like there is a chance that he won't even start school before class

My husband just got his orders a few days ago.  Looks like we'll be headed to Virginia Beach!  I'm excited, just trying to stay patient for more details.

My son just starting A school yesterday 9/26.  His roommate is one week ahead of him.  He is looking forward to it - too much downtime.  He and some other sailors went to see a lot of movies, Hooters and beach so now its time for school!!
