My son just started A School yesterday - sort of.  They woke him up and said to get to class but during the day he found out that he has lots of intro classes and medical to do and class won't actually start until a week from Friday.  But he does get to get up at 5 am and run with the ACs, so he's happy.

A cell phone is nice to have after bootcamp, and they are allowed to have them at A school right away.  Other than that, he can get everything else he would need there, or yuo can ship him a box with clothes and other stuff after you get home.  Everything you give him he will have to carry through the airport and if you give him more than just a cell phone he'll need to have it in a plain black back pack.  My husband didn't want anything more than a cell phone, because he didn't want to have a ton of stuff to carry.  They'll be carrying their big sea bag with them.  As far as specifics for AC's my husband keeps asking for more pens, highlighter and 3x5 notecards!!  LOTS of notecards!!!  They can get them at the NEX, but I always throw some in just so if he needs them he doesn't have to go all the way over there for more.  Good Luck!  PIR will be here before you know it!

Is C school right after A school?  Is it in Pensacola?  Do they ALL go to C school?

I'm still not sure of a start date...seems like they just moved it a week later as your son arrived a week later.  I guess we'll see.  I'm going down to see him the last weekend of this month and cannot wait!  My husband said he saw a bunch of guys come in last night, and was wondering if he would get a roomate.  My husband has a physical coming up on monday, and is checking out joining the performing group at Pensacola, that's the only new info I have.  Abby....nice to know that's you :)  I think there's quite a few from that division that stick together.

OH, and Esther, I hope you are with your husband soon, or atleast by Christmas, as you wished!
