Hello everyone! My daughter age 23 is going to BC in May and her dad and I are very excited! Right after BC she will go to AC school. We are so very proud of her for making this decision. We are a military family --my husband is a Retired Marine , so her joining was no big surprise for us. I will miss her - we are a close family but this is the best decision that she could have ever made!
slimsam I am not looking forward to the separation at all. Somehow I am sure I will get through it. N4M is already helping me to get excited about the Navy for my son. I am a control freak too. I am a Project Manager for a living so planning is just a part of what I do and expect every day. I guess I better get ready to be flexible :) Did I see that you are from Cheyenne as well?
I am new to N4Ms. My son is scheduled to go to BC in November and has signed his contract to be an AC. Sorry for my lack of Navy lingo but I am sure I will learn :) The Navy was quite a shock to me but I am warming up to the idea and hope my son will excel. My husband was in the Navy before he met me so I guess all his stories must have stuck somewhere in my sons mind.
My son graduates high school in May. I was prepared to have him leave home and go off to college but to have him go to the Navy somehow seems more extreme. I would love to hear more about ACs and from any other mom and who has experienced their son leaving for the Navy right out of high school. Can't wait to learn more from all of you!
I'm not a mom of an Air Traffic Controller, but that is the rate assigned to my husband. He leaves for bootcamp in May and will go to Pennsacola after that. We've been married almost 7 years and have two daughters. We'll miss him so much while he's gone, but we're very excited about what the future holds..... are we crazy?
