We do have a group for his ship & I have talked with several of those moms.  I even had a chance to meet a couple of the Sailors.  It is like boot camp when it comes to communication.  I will be writing lots of letters, sending CARE packages, and like my fellow Army moms, looking for that GREEN DOT on Facebook so we can chat occasionally.  Don't know about internet access aboard.  I know he has had it some when underway.  Lisbeth, he is aboard one of the guided missile cruisers that left in the battle group with the Eisenhower.

@Charlotte--Thanks for asking.  My Sailor will be on a guided missile cruiser as part of a battle group.  They can't really say much else.  Deployment early summer.  My Soldier just got his blue Infantry cords in their Turning Blue ceremony at Ft. Benning.  Tomorrow is graduation!!!!  So excited and looking forward to taking him home even though it's just for a few days.

Soldier graduates from OSUT this week so we will definitely be at Ft. Benning for that! My Sailor will be home for a few days prior to his deployment, so I will have them both home at once, probably for the last time for many months.

I received my son's box and form with a letter on the back. He said the guys he's with are awesome and he's loving it.  He's in Special Ops so I was told I cannot give a lot of info about myself or my son.

Hi TmSwitz--Welcome to the best bunch of moms!  I am in Elmore Co.  My Sailor has been in 1 year & will deploy next month.  Please post often about your journey with your SR & be sure to go to PIR so we can hear all about it!  You will be so amazed.  I have a SOLDIER too. He graduates from Ft. Benning next week!!!

My son just left yesterday for boot camp. I'm still adjusting to him being gone. I'm missing him like crazy.

Left out National Guard from that last post.  Sorry!

Charlotte you are so kind to say so!  It was a fine day for us for sure, and even more of a treasure when I consider that my Sailor's summer deployment and my Soldier going airborne will mean very few days for all 4 of us to be together.  Please share the link to the blog with any moms or families who might have a Sailor, Soldier, Airman, Marine, or Guardian.
