War Eagle & congrats to your Sailor & his family.  The Auburn -Opelika area is one of the fastest-growing in the state, and Auburn is one of the most desirable small cities to live in in the US, and especially in the SE.  However, if they want to be out in the country a bit compared to a busy University town, Notasulga and Beauregard are some neighboring towns which are picturesque and very slow & laid-back.  BTW this Navy Mom group is amazing.  I have a Sailor in Mayport FL and also a Soldier training at Ft. Benning.

My Future Soldier is now a Soldier-in-Training (SIT) at Fort Benning, GA.

Got a 0700 wake-up call from my sweet Sailor this a.m. He was making sure we were all OK. Yes, thank God, Elmore Co. Is all right this time. Any of you Chilton Co. And Trussville families hurting? I hope you are safe. My Sailor said fog was severe in Mayport.

PC Mom:  I'd love it if we could meet somewhere IN Auburn!  I love the Loveliest Village.  I know what you mean about the new look.  My Sailor had it too, right out of PIR.  Now I am waiting for my 20-yr-old to head for basic at Ft. Benning.  It's scary to think I will soon be looking at a Soldier instead of this silly adolescent.  Y'all pray for us both! LOL

So Iran has ordered the Stennis out of the Persian Gulf.  Yeah.  Right.

My Sailor's roommate in Mayport is a guy from Mobile.  they will be riding home together as far as Tallahassee.  Anyone from Mobile got a Sailor at Mayport?

Francine,  Thanks for the reply. Maybe there'll be another time they can share a ride home. Glad you son came home for Thanksgiving. Our son was able to spend a week home in October so even if he doesn't get to come home Christmas, that won't be so bad.
