OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Stephsmom...thanks and we had planned for her to take her phone even though she can't keep it.  Just gives me comfort to know she'll have it with her.  Thanks for the info on finding her PIR group.  I will definitely have to do that.

Thanks to everyone for being so very helpful.  =^.^=

My daughter is leaving for BC on Feb. 14th.  Just wondering if anyone else has a loved one leaving around that time???  Our daughter went to MEPS on Jan. 6th and called us on the 7th to tell us she accepted an IT job and will head out on Feb. 14th.  It was a lot faster than what I ever imagined.  I live in north Alabama and I'm looking for Navy Mom friends.  Any tips, pointers, or just kind words would be greatly appreciated.  =^.^=

Alan had to leave this morning driving back to Norfolk (12 hours). We were fortunate to get to see him for 6 days but don't know when  he'll be able to come back for another visit.

My son, Alan, arrived home tonight safe and sound from Norfolk. He can only stay 6 days, but that sure beats not being home for Christmas at all.

By the way my son is in San Diego and has been there for over 5 years so if he wants to get ahold of him just let me know and I can give you his information.
