Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Thanks Nancy for starting this......its empty now but I will add what A can take once he arrives and discovers things he could have taken that he wasn't aware of so the 12/22 group are better informed. A called Groton but the person said he would be "briefed when he arrived." So not much help for knowing what to pack. He is taking his computer, his iPod, and his phone for sure AND considering taking his camera, a book or 2 and a few small items he received for Christmas like a framed picture of he and Ash. I'm laminating a couple of other family pictures for him too. The good thing is we can ship items to him so not overly concerned. A goes to BESS first and then A school and his A school location will be 1 of 3 so we don't want to send too much because he then has to possibly pack it up and take onto another location in 55 days! He isn't taking any civy clothing at this point.

H is taking her phone, Ipod, laptop, camera, and ereader and some clothes. She was also told she could bring a blanket, but we will probably send that later.

Since T is in IS, we weren't sure if he'd be allowed to take the new camera he got for Xmas. So he left it here and told me he'd let me know if he could have it and we'll either drive it down to him or ship it, depending on how soon he'd want it. He did take his netbook. He doesn't want his desktop until he's at his "permanent" duty station. He also took the iron my dad gave him and his brand new watch and sunglasses.

From what I can tell, our Sailors can take their electronics, civy clothing (like comfy sweats) to wear in the room, toilettries, etc. My son had to buy hangers for his uniforms. He hasn't taken his xBox yet but his room mate has his and a 40 inch t.v. and is only 2 weeks ahead of my A in arriving at base. He took his camera, iPod, laptop, skype video camera, videos, etc. Space is limited but anything that makes them feel at home seems to be permissable!
