Hey everybody!  I just got caught up with everyone's posts.  I feel like I'm addicted now!  My son is settling in at Coronado.  He says it's BEAUTIFUL there, just like a place here called Seaside where you can walk everywhere.  Bonnie, I believe it's called Surviving the Cut.  I looked it up on the History/Discovery channel's line up and it looks like that's the show as they have numerous other documentaries about the Military.  Where they are located is like a peninsula.  Just beautiful.  My Sailor's been watching others ahead of him going through the program and talked to alot of them and says it's all mental so there again One Day/ One Hour/ One minute!!  I'm so glad they got to move to a better climate to start training before they all start A School.  While cold, I enjoyed being in Chicago....I didn't get to spend much time exploring the city, but I can surely see the history!  I'm also so appreciative of technology.  My son's wife and I don't feel so isolated now that we can talk to him everyday!  Oh...and to anyone who has a special someone in P'cola and are planning a trip that way, let me know!  I live about an hour East of there and while the beaches are beautiful in P'cola, there much better sites to see over here...less congested and relaxed.  I can help you out with some places to go and restaurants, etc.  Hugs, everyone!  :)

Good Monday Morning yall lovely moms !!!  Wooow I had to go back 4 pages to catch up and it sounds like other than HIGH electric/oil bill everyone is doing well.  I live in Southeast Texas....  two story house with HORRIBLE insulation and a garage apt.  Im scared to death to see that bill come in too!  The whole nation from up North to down south is really suffering this winter.  Seems this earth really is changing!!!  YIKES!  So Navymom ---  yall dont feel along in this struggle!

Ms Ampi you daughters picture is great she look totally in her groove!!!

My son moved over to his Rescue Swimmer A school and he does not like it at all.  Totally different living situation and of course they take them back down to Phase 1.  Said he feels like a 4 year old.  hahha  HUGS yall!

Good Morning! Ellie and NMmom, welcome aboard!! Ampi, your daughter rocks! NavyGG, that stinks about the oil, 750 a month is CRAZY!! Bonnie and Jan, I dont understand half of whats going on but it looks good! LOL ersmom and ericsmom, good to see you both on here. It looks like all the Sailors are doing well, that is so good to see and the vibe in here is much happier! I know that my son has really adjusted and is happy where he is. Getting to hear from him has mad all the difference for our family for sure. School for me begins today, i dont know why but im nervous as heck! Then ill come home and help my daughter move. she will be about an hour away so im not freaking out about it. LOL Getting used to this new chapter in my role as mom has been a challenge but i do have to say that i love seeing them be the independent people i have always envisioned.....

Blessings everyone! :)

Ms.Ampi..She is Beautiful and Beaming !!  WOW...

Bonnie...that sounds like a show C used to watch all the time..I loved when it came on and we would watch it together..it was fascinating..keep us posted..how exciting....

Jan..I'm so glad you are finding time for fun..it sounds like work is exhausting this time of year...after the day I had today, I might just move by you to avoid paying for these crazy heating bills...soooo, my husband and I were hanging out chatting when all of a sudden we hear this crazy thumping and banging sound. We looked at each other wondering what the heck it was..Suddenly everything went silent and I thought I smelled oil..He didn't smell anything so I thought I just got nervous about the boiler room blowing up or something..The sounds we had heard were bizzare...So, we go about our day and I started feeling chilly but I wasn't dressed very warm so I went and put on a long sleeve shirt..My daughter came over and after a little while she said..it's cold in here..my husband yells in from the other room..hon, it's freezing in here...Now I start to investigate and I'm checking the different thermostats and they are registering low temperatures..I go into the boiler room and it's freezing, not a good sign since it's usually like an oven in there..I have to make the dreaded phone call on a sunday to the oil company to come out and make an emergency visit to check the burner...The guy comes and asks if we have oil...I said yes we just got $750. worth last month..He said ok we'll see what's going on..He is tinkering around with this and that and he had to trudge through the snow to get under the house to get to the tanks and when he comes back in he announces that we are out of oil !! I'm shocked and horrified (embarrassed) so I pull out the bill and show it to him and he said, yep I see you just got some but it's been real cold lately and today is the coldest day of the year...I could NOT believe it...I'm telling him how that should have lasted at least 2 months...he was a really nice, low key guy and he said well, I'll put in some diesel to keep you going till tomorrow...Holy Mackeral..after paying for our "emergency humiliation"..lol..lol..I looked up oil prices to order it for the next day and they have skyrocketed since last month and tomorrow will cost us another $990. plus tax !!!! I don't know if this is normal for any of you in chilly states but we just moved into this house 6 months ago and we have always had gas heat so this oil business is foreign to us...we are certainly getting a crazy crash course!!Hope you all are faring better then us in the "toasty" department..lol..
